Just received an email from Thameslink about the St Pancras lift refurbs booked in from 15 June until mid-September 2026.
In the email, it states:

What on Earth do they mean?
Engaging a solicitor does not in any way guarantee you won't go to court.
You may end up with exactly the same outcome and consequences, but with the additional cost.
If this genuinely is the first and only time you have done this "short faring" - note, this is different to 'the only time you have been *caught* doing this' - then you are very very unlucky, but a trawl of your ticket buying history should be of no concern to you as it will show you have...

I appreciate it's not the "turn up and go" service you deserve, but have you looked into requesting passenger assistance for the times you will need assistance?
When you say your friend "edited" the ticket - I don't believe it's possible to officially change the date on a rail ticket (ie initially buy it for the 12th but then change it to the 11th). I believe you would need to purchase a new ticket and then refund the incorrectly-dated one. However I...
We are aware of an issue with emails from the Forum to Microsoft-based email accounts (hotmail/outlook/live.com email addresses). This is being looked into currently, thanks for your patience meanwhile.
