Seeing in a thread about a split ticket and trains not being booked to stop at some stations made me wonder.
If you have a ticket from A-C and C-D and get on the train which is booked to call at B, but for whatever reason is not running fast from B to D and will not call at C, is your ticket...
Just saw this

I'm curious as to what the sequence of events here was, allowing room for the media's knowledge of how trains work (ie "swerving")
As I'm reading it, the sequence seems to be
Man...

Last night I went to Nutbourne armed with a camera and tripod.

There was a false start on that one:

I wasn't expecting it through that soon after the...
In the past, on a fair few occasions and on a couple of TOCs, I have got on to a late train after work to return home whilst still in ambulance uniform
I have the either searched for the guard, or boarded at their door, and asked to buy a single back home. This is sometimes met with a "Nah...
Hopefully a fairly straight forward set of questions:
If I get a travelcard with a "Southern only" restriction on it, would the restriction only apply to the journey outside of the travelcard zones?
ie:
Havant to Victoria would be correct and valid.
Havant to Waterloo via Guildford would...

Could this be the cheapest tram ever made?
(Yes, I realise that doing this is neither safe, smart nor practical as a reliable method of transportation)

The fasts do more stops in Hampshire than they do in the London suburbs.
Is Penny wanting them to go fast from Fratton?
Would pathing allow for that?
If only Havant still had the...
From the drivers bags thread

That picture on their front page looks wrong to my untrained eye.
Isn't that an Operating Incident of some description? (If it...
All of the discussions of immigration in various threads makes we wander what would happen in this hypothetical scenario.
I don't know how Eurostar actually works, so this has some assumptions:
You leave Paris.
You enter the tunnel
You come out in Kent
You travel through green and...
I am looking at getting a job in London, which would involve shift work.
I see that I can get an annual travelcard season ticket for just over £5,000, which works out cheaper per day than driving and parking.
AIUI, The season ticket would cover me for a journey from Havant to London...
There's something I don't understand.
Well, many things, but one that I wish to address here.
With all the threads on HSTs nearing the end of their life and Pacers being old and nasty (partially due to design, partially age), and having been the poor soul unfortunate enough to be on the...
On a story about a trespass incident, the photo for the article was some stock shot of a 450 somewhere.
2 things jump out at me:
1) Why is it out and about with no lights, I thought they needed lights when they aren't parked up?
2) Where is that? My first glance made me think it was...
The GCR derailment thread reminded me of something I saw at Marchwood.

From what I've seen, the right hand line is bidirectional, with the left hand track used for passing.
I'm assuming that the points going from the right hand...
