Ah, this explains it. Thank you.
I was aware that some operators are excluded, but was unaware that some operators have geographic restrictions on gold card validity.
I recently purchased an off-peak return Kenilworth - Oxford for travel on a Saturday using the Scotrail app (due to its ability to issue split tickets), intending to use my Annual Gold card. I received two tickets: a Kenilworth - Banbury Off Peak Return WITHOUT the Gold Card discount applied and...
Say I'm on the outbound leg of a Super Off-Peak Return (restriction PV) from Leamington Spa to Wivenhoe.
For the outbound leg, the restriction is to not arrive at London Marylebone (or Paddington) before 11:30. Also, the outbound leg allows no break of journey.
Therefore, the first allowed...
This was resolved after an email to customer services - it turned out that my ticket details (and not the journey details as stated in the email) were incomplete: I had split tickets, one of which was retained by the ticket gates upon exiting one of the intermediate stations, which meant I could...
I've had a delay repay claim to WMR bounce back (rather than rejected) because "the journey details you have provided are incomplete. We need to see all legs of your journey entered on your claim under journey details, as stated on your ticket."
After double checking everything, my best guess is...
Hi all,

I'm holding a pair of two Advance tickets, bought through the same transaction, to travel from Wivenhoe to Kenilworth and back. Outbound and inbound are on separate but consecutive days. Outbound is...
I was very surprised to be required to present the payment card used to purchase the ticket when collecting a pre-booked ticket at Kenilworth today. The ticket was bought directly from Chiltern Railways, which I ususally don't use for ticket purchases. I know that confirmation emails always...
I have just added a new railcard to my Oyster a few days ago and can confirm that the discount is added immediately.
The previous post is also correct about the need to register the railcard.
Also note that staff members can add your railcard discount to the Oyster card on the ticket machines...
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
This is a useful bit of information. I was under the impression that tickets could only be collected from machines and ticket offices. I recall an journey on an LNER train on which a passenger got a stern telling off from a guard after showing them the booking...
A few weeks ago, I travelled from Kenilworth to Colchester on a Super Off-Peak Return ticket valid only via Banbury. I booked the ticket online and collecting a paper ticket was the only delivery option due to the TfL portion of the journey.
When I turned up at Kenilworth to catch the 14:08...
