A PED is a PIN Entry Device - basically a card machine for taking payments, though realistically most people tap contactless rather than inserting a card and tapping in their PIN now.
Avocet is the name of a ticket issuing system which was developed by TTK
Far from it, I always see atleast a couple people on trains i'm travelling on tell the TE they have issues with the app followed by a response along the lines of "Yeah X people have had this same issue"Is the ScotRail app now functioning perfectly?
The old app was run by TrainLine, as is Northerns, so that makes sense.Northern Rail app can sell Scotrail m-tickets - there may be others.

The "New" ScotRail app tells me right now the next train from Stromness to Edinburgh leaves from platform 4 at 2005.As to the App we still get many people who are unaware that it is not working correctly and we advise them to show their confirmation email for travel.
Maybe that's the year, not the time of dayThe "New" ScotRail app tells me right now the next train from Stromness to Edinburgh leaves from platform 4 at 2005.

This temporary change may last for a number of weeks.
