It is that sort of service that I think might get 93s during the slippery rail season.Railcam is showing that as 88009.
0Z93 now showing on RTT:I could not find this BUT it led me to happen upon these on Wednesday 26/08/2026. Not the same headcode or times but just as interesting ?.
0N93 13:32 Crewe South Yard to Rugby.
0H94 15:28 Rugby to Crewe Gresty Bridge (DRS)
I wonder if these runs (and yours) are used for keeping locos alive and rotated between South Yard and Gresty ?.
If only the runs were via Wembley !.
Afterthought - training ?.
So something similar happening two days in a row. I wonder if I could possibly wonder......0Z93 now showing on RTT:
I have in the past been through the field to the North West of Gresty Bridge depot. It is a bit Wasteland like. Can see the things you cannot see from the road entrance there.93004 and 93010 visible from the road entrance to Gresty Road depot today.
Thanks Peter. Love it when someone offers useful info - especially spontaneously. I'll definitely give it a go next time I'm there. Go down Davenport Avenue and left into Hinton Road. You end up at the edge of a narrow park with a stream in it (Gresty Brook). Follow that towards the railway but just before going under the railway climb up a bank into the field/wastelend alongside the railway line.
This looks to me like there should be eight 93s at Gresty. (only 93005 & 93006 at South Yard) ?.Tuesday morning update

This Gresty to Stafford to Gresty trip today (Friday 28/08/2026) looks unusual. I wonder if it is related to 93s ?.
This looks to me like there should be eight 93s at Gresty. (only 93005 & 93006 at South Yard) ?.
There are no movements to-from South Yard on RTT for Thursday or Friday so I suspect there will still be eight at Gresty all Bank Holiday weekend ?.
Am I missing something (before I trek to Crewe on Monday) ?.
ThanksShown as 66426 in TOPS - appears to be a test run after attention on the depot.
That is true. Because four of them recently moved to Gresty (Tuesday and Wednesday via Rugby) I am inclined to believe they have not had much chance to wander off. But Gresty must be getting quite full if all eight 93 are there. The only thing I'm not sure about is whether is whether the TOPS locations are accurate locally, or if locos are sometimes moved between South Yard and the depot at Gresty without being recorded in TOPS (e.g. to the depot for exams or to South Yard to make room on the depot for other locos).
Thanks. I am tempted to trek to Crewe on Monday.Current TOPS locations (still showing 8 locos at Gresty):
93001 GRESTYBGE
93002 GRESTYBGE
93003 GRESTYBGE
93004 GRESTYBGE
93005 CREWE SYD
93006 CREWE SYD
93007 GRESTYBGE
93008 GRESTYBGE
93009 GRESTYBMD
93010 GRESTYBGE
I'm going to head there on Sunday morning - no doubt helped by your practical advice aboveThanks

South yard is impossible to id things in but a fly past on the train to/from Nantwich would possibly indicate if more than two 93s are there - depending on what else is cluttering the distant view.
Thanks. I am tempted to trek to Crewe on Monday.
I will be going to Crewe for a long (10 hour) day on Monday (bank holiday btw).I'm going to head there on Sunday morning - no doubt helped by your practical advice above!
