it just needs a couple of rail enthusiasts in scuba gear holding underwater cameras.
Gemini did produce an image with two scuba divers in it, but I didn't like it. I tried extremely hard to persuade it to make the loco an 0-6-0PT but no joy there. My partner's grandfather, Watcyn o Feirion, was postmaster at Capel Celyn for over 50 years.

Well it's certainly better than my post 409 "stranded 37" - and what an amazing (and poignant) back-story.

The Dumfries and Galloway locals turn out to witness a rarely seen Mk1 CTSO (Class Twenty Second Open). It all seems to be too much for one bystander....

There's something else going on there and possibly a very dark back-story and certainly not suitable for children

Reminds me slightly of paintings by the German artist, Michael Sowa, who often uses a railway theme.

If LS Lowry had lived in the digital age, he would have created people exactly like that, @McRhu Epic. 8-)
We've all been there... Enjoying our hobby on Platform X on a rainy day in winter in a howling gale, soggy notebook, squashed sandwiches, cold tea from the thermos :D

I'm  so glad that my "thing" was doing track routes. It meant I was inside for most of it!
;)

The Snowdon Mountain Railway has had a makeover, of new steam locomotives, new carriages. Of note, a special rake for those on the "Britannic Explorer". However, a slightly different name.
Why? Well, we all know the summit of Snowdon exists - but not all of us have successfully found it. ;)

Despite describing to Google Gemini where the railway line is and that the passing train is  on the track, Gemini decided on a different route...
Happily, proper use of the railway line is on thread Show off your realistic AI railway images!

I guess it must have confused a walking track with a railway track.
It would vastly increase capacity on the network if trains did not have to worry about there being rails.

No one in the images seems at all concerned about the presence of the steam train, so must be more common than we thought.

Perhaps AI algorithms interpreted these akin to "trains" that one sees doing circuits of shopping centres or retail parks - usually with underwhelmed looking children riding in them.

The loco "moored" shows how artificial intelligence "learns". AI thought-process was:
Oh drat, I forgot to make a tender on this one.
Aha, I made a canal. And narrow boats.
I'll park the loco here, to replenish the boiler with canal water; and the driver can pilfer coal from the stocks on those boats.

Or something like that. ;)

In an odd way, the canal ones remind me of a real life narrow boat seen, many years ago, with the main 'body' formed from a mark 1 carriage body. It worked surprisingly well.

Cue a train formed from narrow boat top halves?

So much for me telling Gemini to put the man and the Border Collies walking on the shoreline. This isn't going to end well...

Thread Show off your realistic AI railway images has a little fun weekend challenge. It's open to you all and more info is in this linked post.

You'll be relieved to know that the dogs in post 436's link, are healthy quadrupeds. :)
Though equally walking further from their owner than might be ideal. In that case on the beach below, while the owner is on a better laid out path by the railway line.

Again in the spirit of mad input = mad output, this combines two of my passions, railways and theatre/cinema organs. The input requested the train be controlled by the organ. Not sure how the driver managed to sit the wrong way round threaded through the keyboards!

Two 'might have been' precursors to, e.g., Jazz trains and the like sometimes put on by the Community Rail Partnerships from an era I wish I was old enough to have experienced. Not sure about the waiter sitting on the drums for the internal one. Try as I might I couldn't get Gemini to do something with a 'teddy boy' driver! Also notable that the AI engine insists on labelling the train with 'such-and-such Express' if left to its own devices.

Does the Rock and Roll Express have different carriages for different eras?

The carriage furthest from the camera has a lot of smoking going on...

To be fair, these photos from @pdeaves are almost exactly how it was on the folk trains from Edale to Manchester when I used to get caught up in that on my pacer from Sheffield home.

ALT TEXT: Musicians crowded into the bus seat carriage of a Class 142 pacer on the Hope Valley Line

Notable that my example image (not my photo, obtained from https://peakdistrictbytrain.org/things-to-do/folk-train/) is pre-pub and not on the night time one that I took going back to Manchester. A bonus point to anyone who guesses the year without using the image link to cheat.
