AI-generated (not entirely realistic) railway images

The madness of King Gemini.
On thread Show off your realistic AI railway images! I added a sunrise rural scene with five DB class 66s running light. My exactly identical descriptive input also generated - errrr -  this o_O
Looks like a real-life version of the Matchbox Play Track I used to play with as a nipper, where rail and road pieces had the same dimensions, just with different prints. So there was nothing stopping you having three rail segments and one road segment meet at a level crossing.

Not sure what to make of the first image. Asked for a 1960s diesel hauling a circus train.

The second one I simply asked for a British diesel train and got a sort of class 33 meets a 47 meets a 40?!

Coincidentally, at the weekend I generated a few images of SNCF TGVs racing through a modern high-rise cityscape on Hot Wheels "pull back 'n' go" red plastic track. I put in a big loop, too, which the TGV looked most bizarre on. :D

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

I don’t know what is worse:
1) Gemini numbering both locos the same, when I asked for 97302 and 97303.
2) One loco "vaping".
3) A militant elderly lady, when I wanted her on the platform.

I used Copilot to have another go at a British double deck train.
I was pleased with the result but can you tell it's been contaminated by a previous request?

I decided to go further with the tash theme and ended up with this!

Whilst generating some "normal" AI results for post 127 of the linked thread, my exact same description yielded what can only be called "You can't park 'em there" o_O

Oh dear; I was so distracted by the jack-knifed derailed class 66 that it took me a moment to notice the other big flaw...

As my Google Gemini AI image generating daily quota is still a mere 15, I tried two intended compositions with ChatGPT. Is it me, or does ChatGPT's "photorealistic option look - well - not photorealistic? :|

Looks like a photo of my street.

We have people who merge into window frames here, though usually it is Gwen from 87 who does the gate.

I've eked out three new images on Show off your realistic AI railway images.
I will not clutter that thread with general off-topicness, but the photos of the 37 and the terraces does have echoes of the old Longridge branch. Although I saw the old coal infrastructure, and there were a few wagons still around on the line, it was very much in the death throes when I was old enough to remember. It is more the Skeffington Road crossing that is evoked, my match day walk to Deepdale for many a year. No one in the images is holding a Rounds pie and therefore the photo is indeed "mad".

Well I am impressed at your knowledge. 8-)

Yes, I actually used my photos of Deepdale Mill Street gated level crossing and the domestic coal exchange siding visible from Skeffington Road crossing, for my images' inspiration.

My student house was at 10 Fitzgerald Street, runs parallel to Skeffington Road and is just off junction with Ribbleton Lane.
I am looking on Google Street View but the Skeffington Arms (our local) seems to have gone.

Pretty sure the Skeffy went a long time ago. Most of the pubs on Ribbleton Lane did. I was too young to drink in any of them.

Part of my family are from Miller Road, owning one of the houses from new until 2004. Used to be great watching the racing on the dog track from the back bedroom window as kids. Once there was no "base" to use for home games I transferred to the hostelries of the centre and never went back beyond compulsory Rounds visits. I could write a lot about the area, but seems AI recreates most of it.

The only problem with living in that area is that if you went to the town centre via Meadow Street, you probably would not still be standing when you got to town. One by one the pubs on that crawl all closed too.

Need to be slightly careful with streets parallel to Ribbleton Lane near Skeffington Road. Fletcher Road is there.

Well, this was a fun exercise...got quite a nice 153 replacement, and I quite liked the "regional" trains (nice interior views, though I'm very concerned about the chef). The double-deck Vectron hauled train....those seats at the front will command a premium price I am sure!

TfW fitting 2+1 seating then having to use it as Standard Class is hyper-realistic. So at least that part of the third picture is realistic.

The chef approach is definitely novel. Would definitely need gauge clearing.

That single car train is very nice. Lash two of them up and send them on the Marches ;)
