I may have missed it, but what is the logic of 1V62 being a Mk4 now? I am not complaining as that is one of my options when heading south, but I had resigned myself to a 2-car 197 on cover being the 18:30 option.

The diagrams have swapped back as of tomorrow (normally the set off the 06:27 from Manchester), 1W61/1V62 are back on a Mk4 diagram. Not too sure the reasoning behind it!

Today at Crewe depot (8/7/25):
HD05 - no loco
HD04 connected to 67008 has gone for tyre turning
HD01 connected to 67017 and 67025 after it failed this morning.
Swaps:
67025 now connected to HD01
67020 now connected to HD05
67017 light engine
HD05 - no loco
HD04 connected to 67008 has gone for tyre turning

67 I think will be leading from Chester 67015 HD07.
Tomorrow should see a return to 5 diagrams, earlier than originally planned.
Only 1 set at Canton so expected for HD04 to enter service at 09:10 from Crewe.
HD03 then stops tomorrow, hopefully HD05 will be ready to step in on Thursday to replace it.
67012 is planned to swap off in the down time at Canton with 67029 replacing it.

Great! I was debating between the 0853 and 1053 from Cardiff, and was gambling on the 1053 as the 0853 didn’t run as a MkIV today. Then 10/12/1440 back from Stockport on Friday - again depends which will have a MkIV!

Great news.
Though the 18:30 from Manchester today had door issues at Hereford. Assuming that is the only set at Canton then let's hope that the door issue was not too serious.
A Mk4 on the 18:30 is useful to Northwich but then it is something of a luxury after that as the train really empties.

HD01 had a static convertor fault.
HD03 and HD07 are planned to swap diagrams, 03 will go back from Cardiff on 1W57, 07 on 1W61.
Doubts about 04 being ready too, if it doesn't go on v37 hoped to go on w59/v50 instead.

67008 HD04 replacing 197124 at Crewe on 1V42
Correct, 017 going to ETD.
67025 also coming off HD01 later to go to the ETD, 67016 planned to go onto HD01.
HD04 will work 1V42 and then swap to 1W96 today.
4 diagrams tomorrow as HD03 stops and HD05 isn't ready. 67012 will have an exam as its finished early so the swap with 67029 wont happen, the diagram starting Canton on 1W11 will be subbed with a 197.
