I know your frustration i failed the TFW one 3 times on the bounce so i bought a few books with the dots testing on i think they are designed for drivers did them for a few weeks before doing a SCATT at GWR and passed so may help !

So my application came to an end at the SCAAT too. My feedback was too many omissions on the 2nd test (1 shape and first shape on each line). Was absolutely gutted. I was just catching up on this thread and see that you guys have also failed at this point in the past? I thought we only get two lifetime attempts at these tests. Is this incorrect? I only have the one depot nearby to apply so hopefully they recruit again in 6 months!

Sorry to hear of your difficulty with the SCAAT. I've unsuccessfully attempted it several (around 5/6 times) over the last couple of years for several different TOCs and none of them have mentioned about there being a limit to the number of attempts I can take on the SCAAT

No that only for driver, most say 6 month before being able to reapply to that TOC!

What was the interview like did you get chance to sell yourself? Or was it 3 or 4 questions using the STAR method where they ask you something like name a time when you did this or name a time you worked together as a team etc?

What do you mean? How long can u stay in them before having to re apply ? I have spoken to some people who have been in the pool up to 2 years!

I know some TOCs have a policy whereby pools are only open for 12 months, and after that you'd need to re-apply as and when/if they re-advertise.

It will all be skill based! Tell us a time
You provided good customer service? Tell us a time you had to comply with policy? Tell us a time when you dealt with confrontation! So have a load of examples to pull from and then word to show evidence for the question

Currently in process of doing the series of 4 online assessments for gwr. Just done the numerical reasoning test and ticket checking. Anyone know how long for the invitation link for the second OPC test to be sent after completing the first test (ticket checking).
Thankyou

Oh no! How did you find that out? I’m applying for other conductor roles and similar as keen to get started in the railways having left my previous career.
