Will this class 37 moving a 331 be the only move of a 331 for the next month? Or is more than one set to move to Neville Hill?

Same problems as last year...Unlikely to be any more until the May 25 timetable change (besides this one on attempt two) when more 323s can come out . I believe it was the unit that didn't want to play ball Vs a 37 issue.
Same problems as last year...
I see nothing down for tomorrow at Allerton Depot on RTT.Knowing how finicky the CAF 195/331 Train management computer is I can understand why it wouldn't like being coupled to a 60 year old loco . I'm sure they will get it going tomorrow!
I did wonder last year that depite the cost I may be better and possibly cheaper in the longer term to get them cleared to run on electic power via Edinburgh and the ECML.Same problems as last year...
True, but until electrification is completed on the TPE route between Leeds and Manchester then there's no way for them to get across without them having to deal with route clearance.I did wonder last year that depite the cost I may be better and possibly cheaper in the longer term to get them cleared to run on electic power via Edinburgh and the ECML.
Prob a lot of paper shuffling needed but a least they could exchange electrics from east to West without the on-going problems of hauling them with a temp lashed up 37.
Personal view.

On paper they only need to be dragged between Carnforth and Skipton. All electric otherwise.True, but until electrification is completed on the TPE route between Leeds and Manchester then there's no way for them to get across without them having to deal with route clearance.

There are two loops at Carnforth that could be used, Skipton might require a shunt into the sidingsThe issues there are that you're connecting and disconnecting an old loco from an unwilling unit on the mainline for that section when the sensible thing is to do it all in the depot where the fitters are unless you love CAF related chaos!
Theoretically not....the loco could just uncouple on the Up Shipley approaching the station and then pull forward nto platform 2 or 3 - allowing the unit to pan-up and work forward.Skipton might require a shunt into the sidings
Ready to form the next service to Leeds!Theoretically not....the loco could just uncouple on the Up Shipley approaching the station and then pull forward nto platform 2 or 3 -a llowing the unit to pan-up and work forward.
Noticed this morning that the inbound loco from Derby has been cancelled which means the drag is no longer happening. Does anyone know the reason for the cancellation?Realtime Trains | 5Q17 1228 Allerton Depot to Neville Hill T&R.S.M.D | 02/01/2025
Real-time train running information for 5Q17 1228 departure from Allerton Depot to Neville Hill T&R.S.M.D on 02/01/2025. From Realtime Trains, an independent source of train running info for Great Britain.www.realtimetrains.co.uk
Yep, cancelled from Derby. It'll have probably been a problem with the loco then. I think 010 is still sitting in Allerton Depot as we speak.Noticed this morning that the inbound loco from Derby has been cancelled which means the drag is no longer happening. There's usually 1 diagram of that they is very commonly 15x, and has been for months.Even the morning Vic to Wigan via Golborne was a 150 today and that's entirely under the wires
If any of them runs, as they are usually the first to be cancelled. There's usually 1 diagram of that they is very commonly 15x, and has been for months.

Have 331/1s actually ever been on that route before?December was a lighter introduction than originally planned.
331/1’s on 2 Hadfield/Glossop diagrams didn’t happen and are still booked 323’s.
From what I'm aware, I don't think so.Have 331/1s actually ever been on that route before?
Did the unit go down today or yesterday? It means they'll be down one unit until 331010 comes over, if that ever happens if the issues currently occuring. For those who are interested, 333005 was doing what looked like slow speed training up and down one of the sidings in Doncaster West Yard around noon today.
No idea, was just an observation whilst changing trains. On a Saturday only 12 out of the 16 class 333s are required in public service, so there's room to have 1 for training, indeed 1 is diagrammed specially for the purpose....

And I believe those few runs have only been done at the request of Network Rail for use of the pantograph recording equipment which the 331s lack. I’d imagine that the ex-Woodhead line requires more of such runs than other routes given the age of the electrification.3 cars have done passenger work but it's rare.
