Have any others had the new vinyls added in the last week?

They may not have had the opportunity over the weekend as probably there were more units in service than usual to make up for the shortage of Northern services during the strike

On a side note; when do we reckon the whole fleet will be done? Autumn?

Hardly any TPE services were doubled up over the weekend mind, considering Northern had no services between Piccadilly and Salford.

I believe the vast majority if not all of the Scottish services were running with 6 car 185s due to engineering works resulting in services going from Manchester Victoria and via Bolton.

Confirmed, horridly wedged 185 rawing out of EDB yesturday as I arrived for my cheeper but still very busy but doubtless more enjoyable ride on a Pendo 40 mins later.

This was supposed to have happened anyway, as there was engineering works ongoing for the Ordsall Chord. The strike had no effect on services from Piccadilly to Salford.

185101 should be in traffic sometime next week hopefully. The refurbishment is now just about finished.

I've see the photos and I really like the look of it.

Fair. Was pretty dire at Piccadilly. Platforms 13/14 are my spotting heaven! And there were only Liverpool to Scarborough and Liverpool to Norwich services!

I've just seen the photos too and it does actually look quite smart. Fingers crossed that it looks that smart in real life

Unless you are TPE staff, nowhere. Expect a press release soon / article in the new on board customer magazine.

The photos I've seen are of the real seats and interior. The only difference between the artist impression and the real thing is that the standard class seats don't have silver edges, Only silver headrests on a blue seat.

The carpet and walls look great as well. The first class seats look good.

The only issue I have is that the curtains in first class look the same as on a current 185 even though they were supposed to be changing colour in the artist impression - but then again they might install those after everything else is finished.

The first class window tinting hasn't been done yet either.

Are the new/additional power sockets at the airline seats wall mounted or betweeen the seats, and are they 3 pin or USB?

I love that wood effect. Nice seat covering too. Perhaps could have done to be a touch darker, but it looks fantastic.

This is all that has been passed on, and these are "real" pictures apparently rather than artists impressions.

Those standard class seats look worryingly like those on the NIR Class 3000... fine for a short hop, but from Belfast to Londonderry were beginning to get a bit old!

Just like the original Class 185 seats then!

Maybe it's just the angle of the photo, but the padding does look a bit thicker the original.

I actually don't mind the seats on the 185s. True, they're a bit hard, but they have really good lateral support (unlike the ironing boards and those on the NIR units), which was really my complaint with the CAF ones. The way they make you sit upright actually helps your posture, which in turn helps your comfort even if it feels odd initially. But as always, seat comfort is subjective.
