Both Cambridge and Ely have no passenger services "passing".

Roughly two sorts of station where this is likely to be the case: junction stations and branchline stations

In terms of the original question I'd imagine Bath Spa would count.
Although in terms of not being a terminating station, I think a handful of peak time services do terminate at Bath.

Few expresses don't stop for a Bath I think.

Does Coventry still have the early morning pendo pass without calling?

Birmingham International and Leamington Spa?

0518 Bristol Temple Meads to London Paddington via Westbury does indeed pass through Bath Spa without calling.

0705 Wolverhampton to London Euston passes through both Birmingham International and Coventry without calling.

And as Cherry Picker says, 0609 Kidderminster to London Marylebone passes through Banbury without calling.

Just out of interest, what's the linespeed through Coventry for non-stopping trains? Cheers.

Quite a few stations on the Esk Valley line, but especially:
Nunthorpe and Glaisdale (token sections)
Battersby (needs to stop to turn around!)

These are even true of the NYMR specials!

Aviemore, Pitlochry and Kingussie are stations on a non-branch line, with no junction, where no trains terminate but all trains stop

A few random 'mainline' ones off the top of my head and not as far as I can see mentioned already, and save diversions and what have you:
Western: Truro, St Austell, Cheltenham Spa, Gloucester, Newport (Gwent), Bridgend (?)
Midland: Chester, Llandudno Junction, Bangor (Gwynedd), Wolves, Leicester, Leamington Spa
Eastern: Skipton, Keighley, Wakefield Westgate, Ipswich
Scotland: Dundee, Arbroath, Falkirk Grahamston, Pitlochry, Kingussie, Aviemore

And Kirkby Stephen IIRC.

Exeter Central is missed by the last Waterloo-Exeter St David's on Sundays (or something odd like that). A couple of peak SWT services miss Brockenhurst.

The above highlighted, Llandudno Junction and Chester both have bay platforms and trains that terminate there.

Bangor doesn't have a bay platform in use but does have trains terminating there.

St. Leonards Warrior Square. I would be surprised and intrigued to find a train that didn't stop there.

Is Oxford not disqualified through having services start and terminate there?

Like Newcastle, Exeter St Davids, Plymouth, Bristol Tm, Truro, Salisbury, and loads of others as well that have been mentioned?

--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
I thought terminal in the OP literally meant a terminus station, e.g. London Euston (NR) or Holyhead, not 'through' stations which happen to have terminating services, e.g. Oxford or Leeds.

That's what I thought as well.

Possibly Ashford International, Folkestone West, Folkestone Central and Dover Priory. Perhaps even Martin Mill, Walmer, Deal and Sandwich?

Pretty certain Exeter St Davids, Plymouth, Bristol Temple Meads, Swindon and possibly Bristol Parkway are all contenders.

Bristol Temple Meads and Swindon have the sleeper services pass but not stop. Bristol Parkway too if it get routed that way.

I think you're generally right about Exeter St Davids today, but the odd steam excursion goes through without stopping, including the Torbay Express:

ISTR a small number of holiday trains from the North and Midlands used to miss out Exeter on summer Saturdays until the 1980s.

Non-terminal stations or stations that have no terminating services;

Thornaby, Malton, Seamer, Barnsley, Hebden Bridge, Burnley Manchester Road, Accrington.

There are a handful of Chiltern services which don't stop at Banbury.

I'm not sure if it's still the case but I'm sure some XC services didn't stop there either.

Summer Saturdays see a fair few services miss Malton and Seamer IIRC, including the EMT from London.

The last odd omission for Banbury on XC was one Sunday evening service I believe, but that was changed a couple of years ago and all XC services call there nowadays.

A (train)shed-load of these in South/West Cumbria, though I'm excluding request stops on the grounds that sometimes services will pass:

Arnside, Grange-over-Sands, Ulverston, Barrow-in-Furness, Askam, Millom, Ravenglass, Seascale, Sellafield, St Bees, Whitehaven, Workington, Mayport, Wigton

If we're going on the 'purer' no-terminating services version then only Barrow, Millom, Sellafield, Whitehaven and Workington are knocked off.

Marston Vale (Bedford - Bletchley) intermediate stations.

St Albans Abbey line intermediate stations.

Northampton? Depending on the definition of terminal station i.e. if one means a station which is a 'terminus' i.e. no through lines.

Hebden Bridge has at least two services starting there (05.49 and 07.39 to Leeds) in the current timetable plus fairly regular non-stop TPE late night/early morning services (tonight there's IP71, IP68, IP02, IP01,IP03 and IP04).

I'm fairly sure all trains stop at New Pudsey.

The final Manchester Vic to Leeds of the night runs fast from Bradford Interchange to Leeds.

Not read the whole thread but i don't think anything passes through Truro without stopping. Although I did on the two Castles railtour many moons ago. Only stopped at Par in Cornwall in both directions. Two Castles down and a class 50 up. Fantastic.:p
