Had a rattle on 150285 on a Manchester train between Rhyl and Chester today, 3 car 175 on crewe to Chester shuttle.
Now that's a complete waste of resources!
Any idea why the loco hailed was pulled today. I presume 175108 was the standby.
Putting a three car 175 on the Crewe/Chester shuttle,early afternoon,says it all.
Normally this happens when a 175 develops a fault and needs to be taken out of service at Chester. If no spare units are available the 150 from the shuttle is used, with the shuttle cancelled in the meantime. Later on a 175 might become available in which case it goes on the shuttle until the 150 gets back to Chester/Crewe and then they can swap.
I'm not saying that's definitely what happened today, but its more likely than ATW mixing up the diagrams today just for the sake of it.
