Interview is on the 24th, so got a little bit of time to myself sorted.

Did they only ask you the 5 questions? Did they ask you what you knew about the company, station ect?

They didn't ask me about the company and stuff like that because I'm an internal Applicant but they possibly will ask you those if you are external.

They did gave me a scenario where's there's big disruption and the manager wants you to finish checking your train early, he's only giving you 10 mins to check it, (you get given 25 mins to check a train before it goes out). Basically he will try and trick you to saying ok yeah I'll skip checking the train properly but the right answer is to go against the manager and say no sorry I can't get this train out any earlier, I have to spend 25 mins checking the train to make sure it's safe and he asked me what else I could do so I suggested that maybe if he helped me check the train, it would get out quicker and that was the right answer :)

Hope that makes sense, you might not get that but that's what I got.

I have an interview, yehaw.

After trying to get in contact with GA about my interview feedback from Sept I just found out they have can't find it.. But will offer me an interview at Colchester, even though I applied for West Anglia in November.. Finally some hope. Especially considering my test passes expire in May and this is the last possible chance until I take them again!

So has anyone here applied for the depot drivers jobs in Colchester/Clacton etc? Is the manager interview info on this thread useful?

The West Anglia interview I had last year was nothing like 321446's post but was more like the structured interview.

I've only just been given this interview in just over a week so i'm not sure how to best spend my time preparing.

That's great news- good luck! Noone seems to be able to clarify what the eastern side interview is like so could be more structured or more relaxed

It shoud be basically the same, just depends on what the manager ask you, they can ask you anything they like really. But the basic questions should be the same.

I was meant to receive a letter this week about how I did, no letter :( hate waiting :lol:

The basic questions should be there same but as I say it all depends on what the manager wants to ask you that day, and what kind of mood there in. They do have your structured interview questions/answers booklet with them there so they could ask you about it but I didn't get asked about it, all I got told was that I got an A on my structured interview :D but I generally thought they would do it all the same :|

I had DM in September. It was more like the CBI with OPC at Watford.
I did not get through but I believe it was because I lived 40 miles from my chosen Depot.
But best things come to those who wait as I now start training next month 8 miles from home

Which depot was this? Different GA areas seem to have different ways of doing things.

Same here. The interview was really criteria based with situations and scenarios.. Nothing like people say the eastern region's manager interviews seem to be like.

Agree! The DM interview I had for the TOC that has now employed me was more about me and the company with more emphasis based on why I was suitable, and a few operational questions thrown in for good measure, overall an enjoyable interview!
Just can't wait to start now:D

Haha. My interview is at Colchester station , which feels really odd to me as I live next door and i'm used to going to Stratford all the time previously!

You should have a guy called Adrian Mann doing your interview, hes manager at Colchester and Clacton depots I think. He's meant to be alright.
