Any idea if it’ll be back out soon? Not sure how major the work it needs is.Indeed. It was due to work 1V48/1S51 tomorrow - this honour now falls to 220008 and 220009.

Ah ok thanks. That doesn’t sound sensible as it leaves 3 wasted coaches. Do they just sit and rot somewhere whilst the network is short of diesel units?
Are they not totally incompatable with the XC Voyager fleet though?Surely common sense will prevail and the 3 wasted coaches will be given to XC? Just seems so idiotic to waste them.
I think the physical specs are mostly the same, i.e. length, height, width, engines etc. AFAIK they're incompatible due to wiring differencesAre they not totally incompatable with the XC Voyager fleet though?
According to TOPS history, 220028 has been in Central Ricers since DecLatest update then with thanks to posts in this topic:
220023 - At Derby Litchurch Lane
220025 - At Derby Litchurch Lane
220027 - Refurbished - Departed Derby Litchurch Lane Saturday 28th February 2026
220033 - Refurbished - Departed Derby Litchurch Lane Monday 16th February 2026
The location of 220028 remains a mystery! Central Rivers or Litchurch Lane?
Correct - think the wiring, software and traction systems are different or have differences.I think the physical specs are mostly the same, i.e. length, height, width, engines etc. AFAIK they're incompatible due to wiring differences
Unfortunately Lumo will have no interest in what happens to the 3 unused coaches - at the end of the day, Lumo are only interested in their needs and what they are leasing. It's the ROSCO's issue where they have vehicles not being rented out and is instead sitting idle, earning no money.Surely common sense will prevail and the 3 wasted coaches will be given to XC? Just seems so idiotic to waste them.
The 220s only get dragged back from Litchurch, not to it (as was seen in today's move of 220025), and even though it wasn't moved under XC, the unit will still have been allocated and so would turn up (Like was seen with 220027 in attached image)Surely if it was hauled to Litchurch Lane by RailAdventure, it wouldn’t show up on there anyway?

What are we looking at? Apologies, can’t see what you mean.Just hoping they sort this out while 033 is out of action!
Ah I see, someone needs to get their eyes checked, the top door sticker looks mildly upside-down...Just hoping they sort this out while 033 is out of action!

A faulty TMS(train management system)screen in one of the cabs, a straightforward fix at Central Rivers.Does anyone know what the fault affecting recently refurbished 220 033 is/are?
Not out tomorrow by the look of it.A faulty TMS(train management system)screen in one of the cabs, a straightforward fix at Central Rivers.
Thanks for the info.A faulty TMS(train management system)screen in one of the cabs, a straightforward fix at Central Rivers.
Ha good spot. I did read another sticker on that photo that says do not put hands on door. Why ever not. I put hands on those doors often to shove them out of my face when they close on me! Terrible design.Ah I see, someone needs to get their eyes checked, the top door sticker looks mildly upside-down...![]()
I believe this is due to a union issue with the refurbishment work (not my original assumption of a route knowledge issue as that was put to bed by them being driven into Litchurch Lane under their own power)The 220s only get dragged back from Litchurch

I don't know the ins and outs, just something I have heard and would certainly fit with the need to outsource the transfers back from Litchurch Lane to Central Rivers. Why a union issue, I thought this was just a cosmetic refurb though, so why would that have any impact on the driver?

Have the drivers seats been changed as part of the refurb the same as the saloon seats have been?
They have the crews available to deliver them to Litchurch Lane thoughI have no insider knowledge here, but could it not be down to the famous shortage of traincrew at XC, and perhaps that XC have decided its more efficient to focus resource on delivering the timetable?
Union issues that mean XC drivers can't drive them back to the home depot but can drive them in service immediately afterwards?I believe this is due to a union issue with the refurbishment work (not my original assumption of a route knowledge issue as that was put to bed by them being driven into Litchurch Lane under their own power)
