Nuneaton is being painted today. I can smell the paint and there's a few high vis bods walking about.

They’ve put a lighter green paint round the edges of the door. Looked awful earlier on top of the dark green

They were painting the large handrails too, but people were still touching them as the wet paint sign was on the floor and not very visible. Some of the smaller handrails are being painted too I believe, as there is a mixture of white and yellow...

This from the Transport for London Weekend Travel Information email

London Overground

Due to a lack of available trains, there will be a reduced service between Gospel Oak and Barking. Trains will run every 15 to 30 minutes.
This is because of a delayed delivery of new electric trains from the manufacturer, Bombardier Transport, as part of our £300m investment to boost capacity on the busiest Overground lines. We continue to operate diesel trains on this line, but they are becoming increasingly unreliable and are now in need of additional maintenance.
The reduced weekend timetable will continue until the new electric trains are introduced. We will continue to run a full timetable on the busier weekday service.

Are these the unreliable trains that are due to come to the West Midlands?

Yes it is. Class 172/0s after having heavy maintenance. Not to sure in wmr livery.

It’s pretty poor that 172002 hasn’t been returned to trafffic if it’s overhaul has been completed. I take the point that it’s now leased by WMT, but it’s serving no purpose sat in a depot while people are seeing their services temporarily cut on the goblin.

Think 2 are down in Bletchley. The 153s have hit a bad patch reliabilty wise.

Possibly due to their impending transfer to EMT

There are two 150's at Bletchley yes, but I think that is due to re-diagramming of 153's on the chase line to give extra capacity. Someone in the know may be able to confirm that.

On the station painting front, both Longbridge and Selly Oak are being painted. However both are being painted in the old London Midland Green which is quite puzzling. Anyone any idea why wasting time on that.

Also can confirm the 350246 is still in old livery with new logos.

On the bright side 170/2 cars are being used instead of 150. 172/2 did it on Monday.

350246 is in londonmidland livery with LNR branding. Mentioned on here the other days
