172 002 has been transferred from LO for some time now.

Ah but has it? Was reported months ago and rumoured to be at Tyseley yet a member of this board says it’s been at Ilford depot since it was removed from traffic.

Don't you mean 172 for 633 and 635?

It must be possible for someone in the industry to tell us where 172002 actualy is located at present and what its current status is.

I don't tend to pay any attention to livery changes amongst individual units, however looking at the recent lists, it appears that I have managed to avoid travelling on any of the WMT-liveried 170s or 172s, despite making a number of trips in the past month. We shall see how much longer that lasts...

A slight change has now taken place where a very dark shiny tape has begun to be applied on the 350s around the bit where the black and green join on the cabs. Some.of.the earlier done units look terrible with large patches of yellow reappearing whee the green is peeling off so hopefully this slight change tidied them up a bit.

Is that around s the edges of the windscreen? Or around the corridor? Or somewhere else? Trying to picture it.

I explained it poorly. It's a thin dark black.stripe around the edge of the current black windscreen surround. It's barely noticeable unless your close up but should tidy the fronts up if it prevents vinyl peeling off.

Looking at that I have a feeling the gangway alone will not be enough yellow to meet regulations.

May have to be the whole front in yellow?
That would probably be what happens, and for the better - just having the yellow door would look bad.

BUt trains don’t have to have yellow fronts anymore. The 345 doesn’t have any yellow whatsoever

See the 710 LO thread - apparently sat at Ilford.
That would make sense. Since Ilford is Bombardier, it makes sense for modification work to happen there. I’m guessing the works will consist of a full repaint, deep clean, replacement of seats covers/carpets and removal of DOO equipment.
