FWIW I think the logo is really clever...it includes quite a few elements, in particular the WM of West Midlands, and the diamonds representing Birmingham's jewellery heritage. It also looks just a bit Moorish (i.e. Muslim) which could be an association with Birmingham being one of the UK's biggest multicultural centres?

By contrast, everything about LNR looks straight out of the 1980s or early 1990s. Though to be fair I'd half expected white with red doors and Abellio branding - I know it's a partnership, but First tends to hide that aspect of their franchises so I thought a fair chance of them taking the same line - though admittedly old Northern didn't. I do however hope we get the grey, white and red Abellio interiors as I think they are really classy, a bit like the Chiltern Clubman interior.

Pure conjecture at this point but my expectation is for the interior to be roughly the same scheme as the Anglian units but with the red replaced with the teal/green colour from the LNW livery on the outside. Question is, are the WMR units going to have the same interior?

Speaking of the class 350 interior. Google 'refurbished class 185 interior'. TPE are refurbishing their 185 Desiro fleet with this new design. It is absolutely superb. I was amazed. The new seat colours make the seats look far more chunky, more like airline style seats. They have recovered the end walls of the coaches in a wood style laminate. Same with the interior vestibules, covered with a wood style laminate.

First class has new leather seats. Looks just like a refurbished MK3 coach.

I only hope LNR have this type of refurb available to them, if it is indeed Siemens that are carrying out the TPE refurbishments as well.

I don't doubt this type of interior would be preferable over a Pendolino.

The best thing they could do to bring them up to the standard of the Class 185 would be to remove about 8 seats per unit and respace in the centre sections so the seats are all window aligned and spaced the same as the end sections. They'd definitely beat a Pendolino then.

There is a question that needs asking though - are LNR trying to go for a premium/intercity operator look/feel, or are they going to be happy to settle for less? TPE are trying to go from something of a commuter operation to a properly intercity one (at least in terms of stock and layout) - I'm not so sure that LNR need to do similar, something like the GA Aventra interior would be sufficient. Unless of course the 350s (and the long distance Aventras) form a sort of LNR express, but I don't think that there are enough suburban Aventras ordered to allow for that kind of separation.

Branding update: 323206, 323216, 323220 and 323221 have WMR branding overlaying the LM livery. 170513 also has this, while 170511 and 170633 are devoid of transfers.

Although the 350s could do with new first class seats, whatever happens. And if you're re upholstering seats, replacing carpets and replacing vinyls on the doors, covering the ends of the coaches with a wood style plastic wouldn't be a huge job but improves the look dramatically.

Bearing in mind the 350/1s and 3s will probably for the most part be on Euston to Crewe services as Aventras are the 350/2 replacement I believe.

Please correct if that's wrong.

I would definitely be inclined to say that it was orange, almost a 'hi-vis jacket' shade of orange. I agree a gold colour would work much better in contrasting with the purple, and make it look less similar to London Overground - I'd be leaning towards a shade more similar to this.
It's like that dress all over again!

Agree with the sentiment about the 185 refurbishment. That is now the benchmark for interiors, I feel.

A friend of mine who works at King's Heath Depot informed me that "King's Heath don't do the relivery work, but the work is done at King's Heath", revealing that 350373's paint/vinyl job was done by an external contractor in one of the sidings at the depot. He also let slip that, as a result of this, he doesn't quite know when the next unit will be done...

Interesting. Usually repaint happens when the trains goes through heavy maintenance, that’ll be our likely bet.

As the repaint is externally contracted, and I don't know which 350 is up next for a big exam, all I can say is that chance would be a fine thing.

I understand. This’ll be interesting. Off topic this is how virgin is repainting pendos as well at heavy maintenance.

So we still have only one train in each brand in the new colours?

I wasn’t expecting a mass repainting, but I thought at least for WMR we would have had at least one more by now.

Perhaps LNR stickers will be applied to 350s soon.

No point in spending a load of cash if they are due a C6 soon.

Although didn't Virgin East Coast apply stickers to all power cars pretty quick. And the full livery came gradually later.

Seems gold to me. (An orangey gold, I won't deny, but it's not as strong of an orange as the first renders made it out to be).

For those who don't like the West Midlands Railways livery, This is how they were supposed to look according to West Midlands Rail, the Rail Authority for the West Midlands, as announced a year ago in January 2017. I called that Black and Gold and obviously designed by a Wolverhampton Wonders supporter.

I think it's the weird angle of the puple at the coach ends that makes them look much shorter than they really are. Scotrail is fine as it's just dots, but this... it's just not a good look I don't think.

It's a shame they didn't take advantage of the non-yellow fronts option to make it a much bigger difference. Yes, I'm aware the current light configuration isn't valid, but it could be with a little tweaking - all the parts are there.

350116:

Now has 'London Northwestern Railway. Operated by West Midlands Trains' decals/stickers, on all coach exteriors, where London Midland used to be displayed.

Saw one of those last night, it looks really good compared with the new livery. Effort has been put into matching the colour and sticking them on straight, and that makes all the difference (unlike a lot of station sign rebrands elsewhere).

350267 has the LNR | operated by WMT stickets (still the old LM livery's base). On 2W08 (08:09 BHM-WVH) and following diagrams.

Purple....is just not really the colour for a train. Possible exception of Firstgroup, but apart from that...
