We'll stay nearby.

This is a service from Halifax which has been run by Yorkshire Rider, Yelloway, First, Badgerline, Metrobus (WYPTE) and Centrebus.

I only know its history since 1986 so it may have had other operators before that.

Its current number is the same number it had in 1986 but for a few years it had a number 40 higher.

No, that was the old Halifax Borough 34, which became the 507 after a few number changes (507 is still the number of the tendered journeys) before HJC started a service with the old number at double the frequency of First and First withdrew commercial journeys).

Well done. The 528 it is (568 for a few years when they renumbered the 524, 527 and 528 to have similar numbers to the other Ripponden area buses, the 560 and 562. The 527 and 528 got their numbers back but the 564 kept its number for years, being joined by a 566 and ultimately the 527/ 564/566 being replaced with the current 531. There are still signs showing the route of the 568 along the way).

You didn't even need my other clues which included that it has 2 different routes on alternate hours (as it covers part of the old 527 route which also used to go through Mill Bank instead of Ripponden along part of the current 531 route and a currently unserved section).

Used to be fun on the last 527 of the evening which ran at 2250 to a point between Ripponden and Lydgate and did a reverse down a country lane before returning to Halifax via Ripponden. Sometimes the driver's would ask me to stick my head out of the front door to make sure they didn't hit a wall.

Another Halifax one.

This route, now run by First Halifax, which starts from Halifax used to be jointly run by First Halifax and First Manchester.

I think that only applies to one route.

No, but I thought you might go for that :)

The 590 may have been jointly run by an atecendant of First Manchester, but not by them.

That's the one.

First Manchester used to run it every *4* hours evenings and Sundays (so just 1 evening run).

They ran the now-withdrawn 562 Oldham - Ripponden-Halifax.

Then back as a 560 Halifax - Commons and return before going back to Oldham.

They were spectacularly bad at training their drivers who several times when I was on them took the wrong route and missed out stops and often ran more than 5 minutes early.

This route from Huddersfield has seen various operators in the past, but is now perhaps unusual in that it is run by an independent company during the day but by First in the Evenings and on Sundays.

The independent company also has a short and infrequent route extension.

I'm having a good run!

This bus from Brighouse changes its number midroute before changing it back again. On its return journey it does not do this.

E8? Oh and can point out the 303 is run by K-LINE, which is now owned by Centrebus.

No, not the E8.

Apologies for the delay in replying - been having connectivity problems today.

From the end of the month, unfortunately, the evening journeys on the 303 will be disappearing.

I did find that one fairly easy as my sister lives opposite the stop in the middle of Golcar.

Can we have a different area for once next time? Please?

It's not the same if 90% of routes used are in Yorkshire (and not just because of Deerfold)...
