Maybe they are for spares for those in the Wellglade fleet. There is an ex CT4N Solo (original livery) at Langley Mill depot. Unsure which one though

I could see the ex-CT4N solos replace some of the, arguably worse, Notts+Derby solos currently in use or they could be cannibalised for parts (specifically the engine and transmission) for the ex-sixes versas as I believe those specific 3 vehicles all feature the 6.7 Cummins engineIt will be interesting to see if the Solos get used or they are just for spares.
Wonder if its because of the potential tram strikesJust seen Trent Barton putting extra buses on for goose fair how they doing that using notts derby and littles for dupe runs as will be a first in years if a wellglade company to use a double decker on a threes route
In the current operating climate its rather harsh to criticize TB for seeking profitWill be wellglade cashing in they won't say no
Fail to see which sort of business wouldn't operate a supply and demand model. Will be wellglade cashing in they won't say no
If they don't make a profit, they won't survive. Any company has to be agile, open to new opportunities before a competitor gets in first.Fail to see which sort of business wouldn't operate a supply and demand model.
You must be really disappointed.Versa 820 has transferred to Sutton Junction
Volvo 713 has moved to Langley Mill.
Disappointed yes. Surprised noYou must be really disappointed.
They certainly have. Minibuses used short term are 1017/1018.....I understand new vehicles are on order.I spotted a Notts + Derbys bus in Chesterfield today on bustimes, on the 'DDRT' service.
Would it be fair to assume they've got the contract for the local on-demand service? I've not seen anything mentioned elsewhere.

At this rate it'll be worth them setting up an outstation in Chesterfield...They certainly have. Minibuses used short term are 1017/1018.....I understand new vehicles are on order.
Means 55 can be based in chesterfield if there's a outstation there plus less dead millageAt this rate it'll be worth them setting up an outstation in Chesterfield...
Good news anyway, hopefully it'll bring some stability to the service - it's changed hands a few times now.
Depends how it's organised. Matlock shows that you don't need many vehicles there to make one viable, as I guess does Baslow. There's a lot more than goes into opening an outstation than simply having a few routes that happen to pass that area.
Yes, but Matlock depot provides Wellglade an income.....rent from the tyre place. As will Belper.Depends how it's organised. Matlock shows that you don't need many vehicles there to make one viable, as I guess does Baslow.
I think DCT used the Ford and Slater place off Chatsworth Road - I wonder if a similar arrangement could be made?
The current 55 is timed to work from the Alfreton end, but I suspect that's not the most optimal arrangment for passengers. N&D also run some Derby Uni services I believe?
Of course a big factor would be where drivers are based - no point having the buses near the starting point if the drivers have further to go.
478 then, on the 147. I'd think these Solos are a little tired these days. They only had a design life of 14 years. As for the 9.3. You may well have answered your own question. The bus that worked the 17.05 to Derby (arrived Alfreton at 17.24) got delayed on its previous working from Derby to Mansfield.. in Ripley. Maybe the two incidents are connected.Solo 748 was causing havoc in Ripley this afternoon when it broke down at the traffic lights on High Street whilst working a 147 at about 1430.
In other matters, the nines 9.3 seemed to be in a mess today (Wed) with some journeys running half an hour late at around 1700. I was waiting at Alfreton for the 1705 to Derby but I gave up on that and got the Comet instead.
Does anyone know what's causing the delays on the 9.3 ?
Mansfield, Sutton, Kirkby, A38, Alfreton, Ripley, Derby.. take your pick at rush hour.. delays happen unfortunately & it’s inevitable in rush hourDoes anyone know what's causing the delays on the 9.3 ?
I bet you notice how many sets of roadworks could be done, without the need for temporary traffic lights. I noticed near Lammas Gardens Tuesday, they actually used stop/go boards.Delays around the Sutton network are being caused by prolonged gasworks in Sutton in Ashfield which then has a knock on effect on the entire network aside from connect. Unfortunately this has caused upto 90 minute delays to both the threes and nines - even 90 lately.
They've been doing pothole 'repairs' using those too to add to the chaos. It's been a hectic few weeks.I bet you notice how many sets of roadworks could be done, without the need for temporary traffic lights. I noticed near Lammas Gardens Tuesday, they actually used stop/go boards.
I saw a piece on the news about motorists that drive straight through barriers at roadworks on the motorway. Maybe they need road spikes. They've been doing pothole 'repairs' using those too to add to the chaos. It's been a hectic few weeks.
In other news 820 is now in use back 'home' at Sutton.
Have trent ever used private plates before seems a bit unusual if notTrent barton have started to put private plates on volvos XPRSS 38 buses 718-722 R25BUS-R29BUS I wonder if all the other volvos are being done
I think those plates used to belong to some Notts & Derby Solos. 442 was definitely R26 BUS.Have trent ever used private plates before seems a bit unusual if not
