I cant see another thread on this, but Wales bus services are due for a major overhaul over the next few years with Transport for Wales (TfW) taking control of bus services across Wales through a franchising system. This will be introduced progressively starting in South West Wales (including Swansea) from 2027, then North Wales, then South East Wales.
Full details are here.
Their slogan is 'One Network. One Timetable. One Ticket' which reflects the plans to integrate bus timetables with train/metro services and using common ticketing.
I dont know how the branding of existing services such as Cardiff Bus will work, but you can already see a green TfW symbol together with a green bus symbol in use at Cardiff Bus Interchange (owned by TfW) compared to the red symbols used for TfW rail services. Maybe we will see the TrawsCymru services (operated by TfW) rebranded earlier ?
Wales has already introduced a £1 bus fare for under 21s and Labour have proposed a £2 fare for all in their Senedd manifesto - they wont win but the policy may be adopted by Plaid and so has a strong chance of implementation.
Lots of changes coming for Welsh buses.
