Same here.I stopped getting 'Uber Credits' at some point for rail ticket purchases but now they're back...although only 3% now
I'm looking to use the Tesco version to pay for my commute tomorrow, so should be able to give a definite answer then. Can anyone confirm that the Uber gift card purchases from Sainsbury's, and the current Tesco offer - work for purchasing train tickets?
Well, if Uber end up abolishing the rebate for non Uber One members entirely, then there will little incentive to carry on using it.Is it sneaky? They have always marketed it as a special offer with an expiry date, even for the full 10% for Uber One subscribers. I’m grateful that they have always pushed the date back further and further (it’s now mid-Jan I think). If the offer ended and were not renewed I’d be disappointed and my wallet would be a little lighter but I wouldn’t feel hard done by.

I can confirm the Tesco ones do work for train tickets (they add to your Uber Money balance).
Agreed. It was 'summat for nothing' and anyone using the app must have realised this.Is it sneaky? I can confirm that (at least for me, this morning) Tesco vouchers become Uber Money and are used by Uber to pay for train tickets.I'm looking to use the Tesco version to pay for my commute tomorrow, so should be able to give a definite answer then.
I have already found that
- it takes a few minutes for the voucher to come through from Tesco to your email, and
- Uber needs you to have set up an Uber money account to deposit the voucher
So it's not something to enter into if you've only got a couple of minutes before your train.
The problem of course is having to spend large amounts upfront in order to get that effective 10% rebate.Of course losing the rebate is / would be a shame. However, I still see an incentive in booking through Uber when there are 10% off Uber vouchers, as currently on Tesco gift cards, as with the discount, I can for example buy train tickets costing £15, for a £13.50 spend on the voucher.
I ended up buying the legs of the split separately, STP-KET, KET-NOT with the above railcards applied to the 7 adult passengers. I looked at the tickets issued today and I have 6 TT and 1 16-25. This seems like a bug how can I rectify without paying for a refund @alistairlees please?2x Two Together

Looks like I can only order up to £40 gift card to get this 10% off, no higher than thatAmazon once again doing 10% off uber gift cards for Black Friday. May be Prime-only.
But there doesn't seem to be a limit on how many cards you can buy. That may also be a good ting if you're also stacking Uber Credit as it seems that you need to use up any Uber Money on your account before you can use the (time limited) credit - so it may be worth holding gift cards in fairly low denominations and only adding them to the account when any credit has been used.Looks like I can only order up to £40 gift card to get this 10% off, no higher than that
Uber Money availability on Travel products (flight, train, coach)
You can now use your Uber Money funds on all of our Uber Travel products. This means you can pay for everything from your Uber trips and orders to flights, train journeys and coach trips. Products such as Boat, Lime, Uber One, and car hire can also be purchased using your Uber Money.
Quick update - tried switching it on during the booking stage and it did, so it looks like it's still redeemable; I don't remember previously switching it off though. Either way given what the staff told me I'm now less likely to use Uber for rail ticket purchases once my current balance is exhausted.
Second update - nope, the 'switch on' was a false positive and on the review page it says 'Uber balances: £0.00' plus my credit card; could be because I explored Uber Eats this evening and £5 was added to my credits (explicitly redeemable against Uber Eats only) for two days. I despair...
No kidding!I booked a ticket this morning that cost more than £60, and panicked when it looked like they were only going to use my 27p of Uber One Credits, and take the rest via Paypal.
I went ahead and the whole thing was funded from my various Uber wallet components, including my Uber Money
It does appear to work, but the interface would certainly lead you to believe otherwise.
Yes - it does seem to have managed to do this when I last bought a ticket on Monday. I wonder if it is me misunderstanding Uber, or them being unpredictable?@Fawkes Cat, it's the time-limited credit that's used before Uber Money
And thanks for the heads-up; now turned back on for me.Quick update - tried switching it on during the booking stage and it did, so it looks like it's still redeemable; I don't remember previously switching it off though
The ability to search for or find in results Day Travelcards has vanished for me. I wonder if it's still available somewhere...It's an unpredictable system full of surprises that regularly and unexpectedly changes in strange ways! Currently, the search output seems to be a combination of two inconsistent searches each using different search criteria - for some journeys it'll try to sell me two walk-up singles (out and return on the same day on the same route) without offering me any of the (much cheaper) walk-up returns! Two super-off peak singles instead of the obvious super off-peak return!

Could further updates kindly be provided on this.
Was planning to get some Uber Gift Cards.
However, if they are messing around again with how you can spend 'Uber Money', then I won't be bothering.
Does anyone also know if any other retailers are offering money off Uber Gift Cards?
"I’m not sure if this is still the case, but Uber used to try to encourage you to redeem your gift card by putting it into an Uber Money account. This used to involve a credit search. Instead, add it under ‘Promotional Code’ in the app and (if nothing has changed) it goes onto your balance as it always used to."
Travelcard options still show for me.The ability to search for or find in results Day Travelcards has vanished for me. I wonder if it's still available somewhere...
I'm still seeing traditional Uber gift cards with a 10% discount. The latest Amazon / Uber 10% discount which only started yesterday, seems to have been pulled already.
