TSGN Class 313 replacement

Most of the test train coaches DO NOT have the air ventilators on their roofs and also class 73's have slab sides and a slightly lower roof line than a mark 1 coach as they were built to restriction O for the hastings line before electrication

Back in the day, when working in 6-car mode, passengers were allowed in the "guard's vestibules" in the two middle cabs (but not in the driving compartment). This provided a lot of useful additional standing capacity at peak times.

If they're the same as 507s and 508s, probably because the staff doors do not have interlocks and thus the unit could move with them open.

What difference does that make. Some of the test coaches do have ventilators, and they fit in the tunnels.

The doors in the vestibules are interlocked when the guard is not keyed in on the 507/8's
