I've a letter from the BTP about a successful prosecution of two trespassers at Mirfield, is it possible to attach it here (Suitably Redacted obviously).
Yes, still got it at home somewhere I think!I remember being given a mini book written by Roald Dahl about rail safety at School around 1990. Did anyone else ever get this?
what is the law on this regarding preserved lines ?

Pumbaa - what an idiot in that video. If the person who uploaded the video is the one involved, YT could trace his IP address, and he could get nicked for trepass.
Not really, he was harmlessly standing in the doorway filming the view from the doorway. If he'd filmed himself flicking switches and sitting in the driving seat then I'd agree with you, but this is far from a problem on his part.

I am more concerned about the reaction of other passengers. I would have hoped that they would have alerted the TM or driver via a PassCom.
I for one would not liked to have been on the train with an idiot in the rear cab.
Not at all. I'm 16 and am in agreement with NedChester. No doubt Chester025 (Who is also young) will have the same views as I do too.
Really? His video quite clearly shows that he entered the cab. He wasn't just standing in the doorway.
Watch it again then. Of course, I could be mistaken and his arm is about a metre long and can bend in all directions.I'm assuming he filmed that video with his camera rather than his eyes so presumably he's holding his camera some distance from his abdomen.
There seems to be an age divide going on on this thread. Some of the older posters who can remember a time when railways weren't fenced off, and when responsible 'trespass' was commonplace seem much more at ease with it than many younger posters, who've grown up in a world of mollycoddling, seeing imaginary danger around every corner, and being treated like idiots by officialdom.
Frankly, I'm glad I grew up in a world where management of risk was the responsibility of the individual.
