Well I can't ignore an invitation like that, so here we go:
London Transport had some engines,

Viva started the construction,

But the schedule went to "Panic",

Viva's budget couldn't cut it,
And the company was busted,
Trains spent years stood at the factory,

When they sent them up to Wales,
There were endless lists of fails,
And according to their power,
They could break in half an hour.

These trains didn't like the hills 'cause,

Is to draft in extra traction,

Only fair to point out that 230006 is bowling along fine today, so far, it’s the 197 that has lost time mucking about early on between Croes Newydd and Wrecsam

230 006 has swapped with 010 at Bidston for the afternoon starting with 13.20 ex Bidston

Does anyone know if it's planned to go out again soon? Maybe they'll try it for a few half days first?
I had hoped they would see how it goes seems as that’s the purpose of the mods. But as @Philip Roberts said maybe they want to have it so some half days to make sure it’s running happily.

This would interfere with crew diagrams however as a new crew brings the new unit out from North depot, so not as straightforward as just keeping the unit out.
Ahh right! Well that makes sense.
I assume, if they’re going to make it run a whole day, they will change the diagrams to make it work.

230006 is out now seems to be performing well. 008 I believe caused issues this morning however.

I'm a bit lost with the 230 introduction but I assume TFW still plan to have the whole line 230s one day?

That was the plan and I think the modifications to 230006 are a (the) step in that direction.
All a bit forefront of technology really !.

It certainly looks like the rail passengers on the Borderlands line are just seen as incidental to what appears to be the far more important operational Class 230 traction matters. Remind me what month and year it was when the Class 230 units were supposed to be fully operational in service.

I have it on good authority there will be no 197s rostered on the Borderlands line on December 25th this year.
