Unverified third hand gossip! Hence asking if anyone can verifyWhere do you hear this ?
Ahhh! Fair enough.Unverified third hand gossip! Hence asking if anyone can verify
....or "out of service"...I guess the proof will be in the pudding if it pops out in service
This was the Frankenstein......so what parts are in it now does anyone know?230006 has been seen out on 5C52 today. Can’t see it on RTT though.

It's tagged as a "freight service" not TFW
Well I can't ignore an invitation like that, so here we go:Now this Class 230 saga has gone on for as long as it has, it is deserving of a comical Welsh regional folk song written about it that would reflect matters, starting similar to the following:-
"Cosher Bailey had an engine,
It was always needing mending......"
RTT shows it as 2J44 0645 Bidston to Wrexham General and 2F50 0748 Wrexham General to BidstonRealtime Trains | 2J52 0851 Bidston to Wrexham Central | 18/10/2024

230006 out in service today by the looks
Maybe they should have left it out if it was working happily230 006 has swapped with 010 at Bidston for the afternoon starting with 13.20 ex Bidston
Does anyone know if it's planned to go out again soon? Maybe they'll try it for a few half days first?Maybe they should have left it out if it was working happily
I had hoped they would see how it goes seems as that’s the purpose of the mods. But as @Philip Roberts said maybe they want to have it so some half days to make sure it’s running happily.Maybe they should have left it out if it was working happily

This would interfere with crew diagrams however as a new crew brings the new unit out from North depot, so not as straightforward as just keeping the unit out.I had hoped they would see how it goes seems as that’s the purpose of the mods. Ahh right! Well that makes sense. This would interfere with crew diagrams however as a new crew brings the new unit out from North depot, so not as straightforward as just keeping the unit out.
I'm a bit lost with the 230 introduction but I assume TFW still plan to have the whole line 230s one day?230006 is out now seems to be performing well. 008 I believe caused issues this morning however.
That was the plan and I think the modifications to 230006 are a (the) step in that direction.I'm a bit lost with the 230 introduction but I assume TFW still plan to have the whole line 230s one day?
It certainly looks like the rail passengers on the Borderlands line are just seen as incidental to what appears to be the far more important operational Class 230 traction matters. Remind me what month and year it was when the Class 230 units were supposed to be fully operational in service. That was the plan and I think the modifications to 230006 are a (the) step in that direction.
All a bit forefront of technology really !.
I have it on good authority there will be no 197s rostered on the Borderlands line on December 25th this year.I'm a bit lost with the 230 introduction but I assume TFW still plan to have the whole line 230s one day?
While the joke is amusing, there won't be any 230s there then either thoughI have it on good authority there will be no 197s rostered on the Borderlands line on December 25th this year.
