Following on from our ‘Your Ticket, Your Say’ survey in Summer 2025, we’re making some changes to our tickets from 18 January 2026 to make things simpler and better value for you.

7 Day:

If you’re making one or two journeys in a day, your price won’t change – there’s no change to the £3 single on all our buses, and the £2.50 single in West Yorkshire, will not be changing. If you’re just making a return journey, a single ticket in each direction will still be best value for you. The £1 under 19s ticket for York & North Yorkshire will not change either.
Any ticket you buy before this date will still be valid until the date of expiry – the change only affects tickets purchased after 18 January 2026.
There’s no changes to where you can get your ticket… you can still buy before you board on the popular Transdev Go app, or get single, 1 day and 7 day tickets from your driver through cash or contactless. The most flexible way for adults to travel is to tap on and tap off, you won’t pay more than the 1 day or 7 day price.
Multi operator tickets such as MCard and All York will not change either.
These changes have been made with you in mind, to make bus travel simpler than ever and to give you great value when you travel with us.

I hadn't realised that Whitby and Scarborough were not in Yorkshire! Our Yorkshire ticket will cover all Transdev buses in Yorkshire, with 1 day, 7 day , 28 day and annual versions. On Coastliner, the ticket is valid as far as FERA from Leeds and York.
Arriva don't think they are in Yorkshire either, although they have more justification for it!From https://www.transdevbus.co.uk/coastliner/news/your-tickets-are-changing-from-18-january-2026/:

Looking at Lancashire fares, this looks like generally good news for people making longer journeys, but there are some significant rises for some shorter journeys - 25% for someone currently buying a Burnley weekly ticket, 32% on the Blackburn weekly, 42% on the Blackburn Local day ticket.
It does remove a lot of inconsistency in the current system (e.g for someone with a Preston weekly the rise is only 6%, and the new Lancashire weekly is actually cheaper than the current Rossendale weekly) and with the number of zones currently there are lots of short journeys crossing a boundary. Plus some places currently not in any of the smaller zones, so only the (more expensive, current) Lancashire tickets are valid.
£7.50 as the cheapest day ticket does feel high though.
I guess bringing the Manchester buses into the Lancashire tickets suggests they don't expect the fare cap to end any time soon?
To ensure pupils at Beckfoot Oakbank School arrive on time, we are making some changes to the K16 in the morning, starting 5 January.
The trip which currently departs Keighley at 7.30am will now depart at 7.25am, and run 5 minutes earlier thoughout the journey.
A few of the Transdev ticketing pages need updating. They know about it but just can't be bothered fixing it.shame they don't advertise on the Keighley page that the Lancashire ticket is valid to there - you have to look a at the Burnley page to find this out.
These are missing on the new news pages as well as being missing from the current fares ones. Keighley rarely mentions diversions and problems on the M4 despite it being co-ordinated for most of the day with the 66.A few of the Transdev ticketing pages need updating. They know about it but just can't be bothered fixing it.
Keighley travel office confirms there won't be discounts for 10 packs of tickets any more, so for those going from the current daily West Yorkshire Plus ticket to the new Yorkshire ticket, there's a price rise of 56% with the Lancashire equivalent only being a 3% saving (more if going to/from Manchester).I'm not sure it makes my travel simpler and better value.
For my fairly frequent trips on the current West Yorkshire Plus I'm seeing a fairly hefty fare increase of 25%
It's better value than now if I go to Harrogate but I don't do that solely by bus very often - though it makes a trip on the 59 more reasonable.
Manchester (very slowly) for £7.50 return is a bargain, compared to the current £14 (or £12 if I just pay single fares) - shame they don't advertise on the Keighley page that the Lancashire ticket is valid to there - you have to look a at the Burnley page to find this out.
Will be handy to get to Barnoldswick via Colne for £7.50 (a 17% drop in price), which is faster than via Skipton at some times because of the higher frequency - with the Yorkshire ticket I can get to either, but not between the two. However I'll have to go that way in both directions as the Lancashire ticket isn't valid between Skipton and Keighley.
I can see both tickets being exactly the same price causing some confusion on the M4 and M6.
At least they're keeping the £4 Keighley Day Ticket, with a 5% reduction in the price of the weekly ticket.
We're always looking for ways to improve the Transdev Go app. Starting shortly, a small number of our customers with Android devices will be given access to a new version of the app.
The updated Transdev Go app features a revised user experience, with access to tickets and favourite services on the front page. A new menu, accessible from the top left-hand side, provides access to the features you expect from our app.
The new version is continually evolving, and we are working with our app provider to make adjustments based on your feedback. The current version of the app will continue to function as it does, so there's no need to worry if you don't receive the new update on your device.
Please let us know what you think - just email us at go@transdevbus.co.uk
It's also mentioned at the bottom of paper bus tickets in small print.Oddly, instead of the previous habit of notices on social media and not much else, there are leaflets about fare changes on buses and in travel centres and complete silence on social media.
Complete silence? I wonder if it's just a downturn in use of Twitter, not social media generally. Transdev wouldn't be the first operator to stop using Twitter, First has completely left the site.Complete silence? There’s been several mentions on Facebook.
Not surprising - it’s an absolute ragebait binfire of a site nowI wonder if it's just a downturn in use of Twitter, not social media generally. Transdev wouldn't be the first operator to stop using Twitter, First has completely left the site.
Sorry, I assumed they published the same everywhere. They put roadwork info on Twitter, but nothing about fare changes.Complete silence? There’s been several mentions on Facebook.

We’d love to hear what you think. Get in touch with us at customer.services@transdevbus.co.uk to let us know your views.
That will need fine tuning. Manchester to Burnley is 111 minutes on the X43 at 1622, so transferring at Burnley to a Mainline on to Nelson will fail to work presumably. Nelson to Manchester is one of the examples used in the publicity. Of course, if travelling both ways on the same day, you should use tap and go anyway and be capped at the new £7.50 day ticket.Transdev is launching a 'SWITCH' ticket in Lancashire from 18 January, following the same principles of the 'SWITCH' ticket in Harrogate:

They were said to be going off lease. They are too unreliable which is why older Veras which are reliable are being kept.Aldo is it true versa's from 464 will move to Irwell Line?
What's different about the newer ones used on the 464 compared with the slightly older ones used on Mainline? I wasn't aware that anything in the manufacturers spec had changed in that couple of years...They were said to be going off lease.
