Also believe the Mercs are Euro 6 for the previously proposed Clean Air Zone, the Cummins are Euro 5.
I would be very surprised by that, 220–273 were registered in 2016 and 2017, and Euro VI was the required standard for new buses at the time.
Especially as that batch included the Flyer buses that were running to Leeds and Bradford city centres.

It wasn't required in the UK then due to UK government incompentence. The EU rules changed but the UK was slow to change the domestic regs which buses could be registered under so UK manufacturers were able to supply Euro V buses for several years after the Euro rules changed - eventually the UK manufacturers stopped supplying as they didn't want the Euro VI development costs to be wasted by undermining their sales with cheaper and simpler Euro V models. This was why you could still buy old shape Enviro 200s for 3 years after the MMC was launched in 2015, the MMC was Euro VI whilst the 'classic' was Euro V. European manufacturers, of course, couldn't benefit from this loop hole so all coaches & buses from suppliers like Volvo, Scania & Mercedes switched around 2014/2015.

OK, well that checks out – no-one is going to disbelieve any story that relies on the government of 2010–24 being incompetent!
I had always assumed that the handful of classic E200s that I've seen registered post-2015 were remaindered models that had been built before the legislation changed and then not sold or registered until later, I hadn't realised that the factories were still making them. Pretty short-sighted of operators to be buying Euro V buses at that time though...

It threw me when the Mainline Versas were delivered. They arrived at the same time I had a load of Euro 6 vans delivered and assumed the Versas would be the same. I'm paraphrasing but one of the press releases at the time said that the Euro 5 Cummins engines could be 'upgraded to Euro 6 standard'. Not sure how much would would be involved to upgrade them but as they don't enter any low emission zones I don't think it was much of a problem

The 464 Versas are unique to Transdev, being the only ones ever built with Mercedes engines and Allison xFE gearboxes, a combination which has been shown does not work well together. Maybe the author of that less than great idea is now working for Northern Rail.

Were they XFE or Allison World Series as they had World Series gear selectors in the cab

Any idea if this is a totally new app to replace the dreadful and unpopular one introduced a couple of years ago, or an upgrade to the existing one?
Given that it says "new version" I'd interpret interpret that as an upgrade to the existing app, possibly with some new features.

I note the Switch tickets are advertised as giving a standard 90 min transfer time or 120 mins on longer routes from outside Lancs (M4,M6,X43). I’m sure this has changed from 60/90 mins as originally advertised on the Transdev website. If so a welcome change.

Yes, it was quoted in post #5386.
Keighley travel office confirms there won't be discounts for 10 packs of tickets any more, so for those going from the current daily West Yorkshire Plus ticket to the new Yorkshire ticket, there's a price rise of 56% with the Lancashire equivalent only being a 3% saving (more if going to/from Manchester).

Oddly, instead of the previous habit of notices on social media and not much else, there are leaflets about fare changes on buses and in travel centres and complete silence on social media.
Turns out the office was wrong and there are discounts for buying 10.
I've never seen an advert for that and the tickets aren't listed in any logical order on the app.

Are Blackburns and Burnley's Cummins Versa's due to be replaced?

I noticed Transdev seem to be selling Versa's off in other parts of the business

I doubt it yet - there's nothing so far to replace them with.

The ex-464 Versas (and the last couple of Euro 3 Volvo B7RLEs at Blackburn, as I recall) will go when 514-29 enter service shortly.

They're 63-reg so they aren't that old – elsewhere Transdev have been keeping Volvos in front line service for 20 years or more, so on that basis won't be going anywhere for at least another 5 years.

The bundle is only worth buying if you are making a journey involving a change of bus though, otherwise £6/day is just the cost of buying two singles on the bus.

All bundles of singles less than £3 have been withdrawn except in West Yorkshire, so combined with the steep price increases on period tickets, if you make less than 5 return journeys a week there is no way to pay less than £3 per journey.

It's a bit late now after the changes have already happened, but the MPs for Burnley and Hyndburn have been kicking up a bit of a fuss this week
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c8d0y9jzl72o

A rise in bus fares across Lancashire is "outrageous" and operator Transdev are "taking the mick", an MP has said.
All-day tickets are rising from £6 to £7.50, while a weekly ticket is increasing from £19 to £25.
Burnley's MP Oliver Ryan has joined his Labour colleague for Hyndburn, Sarah Smith, in writing to the bus company urging it to reconsider.
However, Transdev has defended the changes, insisting that for many they will actually make journeys cheaper and more flexible.
Ryan told BBC Radio Lancashire the increases were "outrageous" and Transdev were "taking the mick".
"If they'd come back with an inflation rise then people would probably live with that," he said.
"But this is a 60-odd per cent increase."

A particular complaint seems to be about child (under 19) tickets, which on top of the general fare rises are now only a 20% discount from the adult fare for a weekly ticket.

They are now. The West Yorkshire plus ticket in a bundle was cheaper than 2 singles if you left west Yorkshire and was cheaper than an MCard bundle if you didn't.

And the West Yorkshire single bundles don't give any discount.

I suspect many people didn't realise there were such big changes and may have believed the hype about the new tickets being simpler and cheaper. They're simpler, but only cheaper if you travel more widely than the average passenger.

Children should pay double, they are twice the nuisance!

The change in fare all depends on personal circumstance.
An individual, say travelling from one side of Blackburn town zone to the other (two buses each way), could previously have bought the town day ticket (£4.50?), now they have four singles at £3 = £12.00, two Switch tickets at £4 each = £8 or a Lancashire Ticket at £7.50. Assuming they don't travel frequently enough to make a weekly or longer ticket cheaper.

I notice the switch ticket is advertised on the Blackburn Transdev site as 120 minutes validity, not clear how many buses you can take in the period. If your trip is say to Tesco you might make all four journeys in that 120 minutes.

An individual travelling from Baxenden to Blackburn would have paid £6.00 for the larger Blackburn area day ticket, now the same £7.50.

The winners are those with a journey connecting onto the X41 / X43 as Manchester is now included in the Lancashire ticket.

Graphic advertising Transdev SWITCH ticket, reads "SWITCH. 1 Ticket, 2 Buses, £4."

There are a number of day returns showing @ £5 rather than £6 amongst the fare tables listed on bustimes https://bustimes.org/fares/datasets/703
For example on Harrogates Route 1 £5 returns all the way tio Mother Shiptons at Knaresborough and £6 thereafte. Simailarly some singles (outside WY) aer showing as £2.50

Does anybody know what route Burnley Depot's M1 to/from Accrington will be taking this weekend as there's a road closure at Hapton Station this coming weekend? As usual there's no actual diversion information on the website just stating which stops won't be served

Team Pennine changes from 22 February:
From Sunday 22 February 2026, we’ll be making some changes to our buses around Huddersfield to better reflect usage and improve our timekeeping.

On Denby Darts D1, there will be changes throughout the week to improve punctuality. There will also be changes on weekdays to Denby Darts D2 and D3.

On the 303 & 304, there will be minor changes to times on weekday mornings.

On the 360, there will be a new timetable all through the week. Buses will now run every 30 mins Mon-Fri, and every 45 mins on Saturdays. We’ll no longer serve the Market Street stop, instead picking up in Huddersfield Bus Station.

New timetables will be available to download soon.

We hope these changes to our buses will improve the service for you, and ensure we are as punctual as possible.

it looks like the whole of Padiham and Hapton will be missed from the M1. (Padiham still served by M2/152) Looking at the stops missed I Think the diversion will be from George IV, via Lowerhouse/Rose Grove and Accrington Road to the Hapton Inn. As a Padiham resident going to Accrington tomorrow AM I appreciate you raising this as I wouldn’t have known otherwise.

From https://www.transdevbus.co.uk/coastliner/news/your-tickets-are-changing-from-18-january-2026/:

I hadn't realised that Whitby and Scarborough were not in Yorkshire!
So I actually tried the new Yorkshire ticket on Saturday (24/01), doing York to Keighley with the 843 and 60. The morning coastliner driver didn't know about it and I had to help him find it on his screen, and the evening driver looked at the ticket very suspiciously for a couple of mins. The two 60 drivers took no notice of it.

B7TLs 2704 & 2744 and 'Irwell Line' B7RLEs 1730, 1732 & 1733 have all been withdrawn. Paul Turner also reports that deliveries of E200 MMCs to Blackburn have resumed.

B9TL 2421 has moved to Flyer, presuambly covering for 2410.
