Transdev has announced changes to tickets from 18 January:

Following on from our ‘Your Ticket, Your Say’ survey in Summer 2025, we’re making some changes to our tickets from 18 January 2026 to make things simpler and better value for you.

From this date, our West Yorkshire Plus, Boroughbridge and FLYER 1 day, 7 day and 28 day tickets will no longer be available, and will be replaced by two new simpler products for you.

Yorkshire ticket
Our Yorkshire ticket will cover all Transdev buses in Yorkshire, with 1 day, 7 day , 28 day and annual versions.

1 Day:
Adult £7.50, U19 £5, Duo £12, Group £16

7 Day:
Adult £27.50, U19 £20

28 Day:
Adult £95, U19 £70

Annual:
Adult £990, U19 £800



DayTripper
If you’re travelling further afield, a new DayTripper ticket will be available covering all Transdev buses in Yorkshire and Lancashire including all of Coastliner.

1 Day:
Adult £15, U19 £10, Duo £20, Group £31

Harrogate
If you’re travelling locally in Harrogate, there are some changes to the price of this ticket, and we’re extending it so its valid to and from Ripon and Pateley Bridge too.

1 Day:
Adult £7, U19 £4, Duo £10, Group £15

7 Day:
Adult £22, U19 £15 (Knaresborough 7 U19 available between Harrogate and Knaresborough only £9)

28 Day:
Adult £75, U19 £50



If you’re making one or two journeys in a day, your price won’t change – there’s no change to the £3 single on all our buses, and the £2.50 single in West Yorkshire, will not be changing. If you’re just making a return journey, a single ticket in each direction will still be best value for you. The £1 under 19s ticket for York & North Yorkshire will not change either.

Any ticket you buy before this date will still be valid until the date of expiry – the change only affects tickets purchased after 18 January 2026.

There’s no changes to where you can get your ticket… you can still buy before you board on the popular Transdev Go app, or get single, 1 day and 7 day tickets from your driver through cash or contactless. The most flexible way for adults to travel is to tap on and tap off, you won’t pay more than the 1 day or 7 day price.

Multi operator tickets such as MCard and All York will not change either.

Looking at Lancashire fares, this looks like generally good news for people making longer journeys, but there are some significant rises for some shorter journeys - 25% for someone currently buying a Burnley weekly ticket, 32% on the Blackburn weekly, 42% on the Blackburn Local day ticket.

It does remove a lot of inconsistency in the current system (e.g for someone with a Preston weekly the rise is only 6%, and the new Lancashire weekly is actually cheaper than the current Rossendale weekly) and with the number of zones currently there are lots of short journeys crossing a boundary. Plus some places currently not in any of the smaller zones, so only the (more expensive, current) Lancashire tickets are valid.

£7.50 as the cheapest day ticket does feel high though.

I guess bringing the Manchester buses into the Lancashire tickets suggests they don't expect the fare cap to end any time soon?

I imagine it'll primarily be used by people using two buses to connect to their final destination and returning the same way where a return ticket won't work, rather than four individual single fares. The £3 maximum fare also seems to also be a £3 minimum fare for most journeys now so it could offer quite a substantial saving.

It's better value than now if I go to Harrogate but I don't do that solely by bus very often - though it makes a trip on the 59 more reasonable.

Manchester (very slowly) for £7.50 return is a bargain, compared to the current £14 (or £12 if I just pay single fares) - shame they don't advertise on the Keighley page that the Lancashire ticket is valid to there - you have to look a at the Burnley page to find this out.

Will be handy to get to Barnoldswick via Colne for £7.50 (a 17% drop in price), which is faster than via Skipton at some times because of the higher frequency - with the Yorkshire ticket I can get to either, but not between the two. However I'll have to go that way in both directions as the Lancashire ticket isn't valid between Skipton and Keighley.

I can see both tickets being exactly the same price causing some confusion on the M4 and M6.

At least they're keeping the £4 Keighley Day Ticket, with a 5% reduction in the price of the weekly ticket.

Transdev will be making some minor changes to the K16 from 5 January:

To ensure pupils at Beckfoot Oakbank School arrive on time, we are making some changes to the K16 in the morning, starting 5 January.

The trip which currently departs Keighley at 7.30am will now depart at 7.25am, and run 5 minutes earlier thoughout the journey.

These are missing on the new news pages as well as being missing from the current fares ones. Keighley rarely mentions diversions and problems on the M4 despite it being co-ordinated for most of the day with the 66.

That will need fine tuning. Manchester to Burnley is 111 minutes on the X43 at 1622, so transferring at Burnley to a Mainline on to Nelson will fail to work presumably. Nelson to Manchester is one of the examples used in the publicity. Of course, if travelling both ways on the same day, you should use tap and go anyway and be capped at the new £7.50 day ticket.
