On the topic of coordination, is there any reason why the M4 can't be better coordinated with the 66 between Keighley and Airedale Hospital? As @Deerfold metioned above there was a time when they had a decently coordinated timetable - I believe they promoted the fact there was a 15 minute service between Keighley and the hospital with both services.

With the Mainline terminating at Burnley and no real need to coordinate with any other services to the east surely it wouldn't take a lot to better coordinate with the 66 again? The only other service that runs east is the Wizz, but I think that runs as a standalone service anyway.

There may be many quite obvious reasons why it wouldn't work, but it's a billion degrees at the moment and my brain is struggling to brain and can't really think of any!
The M4 and 66 are coordinated every 15 minutes out of Keighley. They aren’t as good coming in due to the M4 having longer layover at Keighley which will be determined by the varying lengths of all the east Mainline services

Doesn't the M4 and M3, M5 and Wizz combine at Colne to form a regular interval service Colne - Burnley? If you change that it could cause a recast of Burnley bus services as far away as Skipton!

They are Mon-Sat in the middle of the day, but not early, peaks, part of the evening and Sundays. Evenings are odd, with a 47 minute gap in the early evening, but the 66 is odd then:

1810 66
1813 M4
1840 66
1900 66
1913 M4
2000 66
2013 M4
2045 66
2113 M4
2145 66
2213 M4
2300 66

Transdev have been busy honouring the lionesses with Rosso Enviro 200 762 named Keira Walsh, Harrogate 36 Gemini 3 3619 named Rachel Daly and Coastliner Gemini 3 3630 named Beth Mead.

Transdev are extending the validity of the KDay to Team Pennine rather than just Keighley. However, with the Metro-sponsored reduction in Day Tickets, it will only be worth using if you leave West Yorkshire (towards Rochdale, Skipton or Colne).

The £1 evening fare promotion is also coming to an end - just in time for the return of Night buses from Manchester.

As part of our partnership work with the Mayor of West Yorkshire, West Yorkshire Combined Authority and MCard, we'll be making some changes to our fares from 4 September.

The changes will represent a significant price reduction for many of our customers who travel within West Yorkshire.

The maximum single fare within West Yorkshire will be £2 and the MCard West Yorkshire DaySaver will be reduced to £4.50 – this gets you travel on any bus right across Keighley and West Yorkshire – it doesn’t matter the colour or company of the bus!

Some of our tickets will be no longer be sold or may be changed as the new fares will represent better value for money. Day return fares which are priced at £4 or over won't be available anymore as it will be better value for customers to just buy two £2 single tickets for £4 instead.

Our KDAY ticket will now be priced at £5 at any time of the day. Along with the price change, KDAY tickets will be valid on any TeamPennine bus too.

...

After just over a year and almost one million customer journeys, we've decided to bring the £1 after 7pm promotion to an end on 31 August.

They're keeping the £1 evening fare in Lancashire, apparently it's financially viable to continue(!)

Adult single journeys within Manchester will now cost no more than £2.

From 4 September, there will be some changes to fares in Greater Manchester along with the good news that our £1 promotion fare after 7pm will stay in place in Lancashire.

£1 after 7pm across Lancashire

This £1 go anywhere fare will continue to be available for all journeys made within Lancashire. Other journeys will return to their normal price with daytime fares kept the same as now, except in Greater Manchester where new, reduced fares will be introduced.

As part of our partnership work with the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Transport for Greater Manchester and System One, we are bringing in cheaper fares. This means the maximum adult single fare within Greater Manchester will be £2 and £1 for U19s.

The System One day ticket will be reduced to £5 – this gets you travel on any bus right across Greater Manchester – it doesn’t matter the colour or company of the bus! Day return fares in Greater Manchester which are priced at £4 or over won't be available anymore as it will be better value for customers to just buy two £2 single tickets for £4 instead.

GM Saver 1 day tickets will no longer be available. Other local tickets which are cheaper than the System One range or have boundaries outside of Greater Manchester will still be available.

Lancashire County Council price changes

From 28 August the price of single and return fares on our Ribble Country network will be increased by Lancashire County Council. Day and week ticket prices will be unchanged.

Good news for passengers, but I do wonder what magical money tree is being used to support these cheap fares.

Do Team Pennine and Transdev Keighley even overlap anywhere? If not, it's a slightly pointless extension as you'd still need to pay on another operator (probably First) in order to make use of it.

Keighley-Cullingworth with the 502

Or as you will know it from 5 September

Great Northern Line

Effectively it covers a couple of cross border scenarios involving Dalesway (Skipton) and the bus to Rochdale.

Indeed, the 502 links Keighley and Halifax, every hour (runs early, but not evenings or Sundays).

I mentioned the cross-border options in my precious post - there's the M4 to Colne, too (the bus runs to Burnley, but the KDay/KCard Extra are only valid to Colne).

Many people use 502 between Denholme and Keighley 2bph with the 67.

The KDay validity has also been extended between Skipton and Barnoldswick.

The KDay validity has also been extended between Skipton and Barnoldswick.

That's existed for many years (since the introduction of an early Skipton to Barnoldswick service) - I was just commenting on the ways to leave West Yorkshire on one.

If you want the complete list of validity outside West Yorkshire you need the 72 Skipton to Grassington, too.

Just checked, the KDay and KCard Extra are currently also valid on the 502.
The Skipton – Grassington route was dropped from KDay validity for a while but noticed it had returned.

Yes, KDay was valid on 502 as soon as Transdev took over Team Pennine. Skipton to Grassington validity was dropped from the Sunday service when Burnley were running it, but it returned when Keighley started running the weekday 72.

I guess that's where the excess CityZaps are heading to since the Zap dropped to an hourly service.
Disappointed they aren't using them to bolster the Coastliner fleet. We're hearing of fleet issues more than driver issues at the moment.

Given there are cancellations almost daily on the 7 through Wetherby doesn't bode well for the X98/99
Yes. If Transdev can't cover their existing services, how can they be considering an expansion?

How accurate it is or not may be open to question but in replying to comments on one of his tweets recently Alex Hornby said the current cancellations were largely due to drivers being on holiday implying they have almost enough drivers for rotas provided none are off work. If they do take the X98/99 would some First drivers transfer under TUPE legislation although I can imagine pay rates might be a problem depending where they were operated from - Starbeck is nearest to Wetherby and Idle to Leeds is a mile further.

If Transdev do take over the X98/99, I'd expect First to deregister it and Transdev to register it. I'd be surprised if any money changed hands. As it's also entirely or largely commercial, I doubt TUPE would apply.

The X98/X99 have indeed been cancelled by First (link here) from the 2nd October.
