Got one , 5A74 didn't seem to appear out of Birmingham New st , the 1st pic is freightmaster maps while the 2nd pic is on traksy ( 1G15 appeared on traksy it just moved a signal block.)

Unfortunately it isn't changing the colour of the unmapped trains, which are also in white. The trains are there, but since they're white on a white background they aren't visible

Oh that explains it , Glad it's just some stupidity on my end instead of an issue with the website at least. Would it be possible to change the colour of the text to a Grey or off white so it works with Dark Reader , Either that or change the Colour of Berths ?

There's a new feature on the new site. Maps of areas without modern signalling powered by live reports. Initially this covers:

• All the Devon and Cornwall branches, and the mainline from Truro to Penzance. This adds St Ives, Looe, Newquay, Gunnislake, Okehampton and Barnstaple to the map. It also adds updates to Paignton (although it's a bit wonky when trains arrive in platform 1), and adds some berths onto the Exmouth line so you can see what's going on in more detail.
• Windermere Branch. This was the inspiration for the project, since it was a pain figuring out my connections over the summer
• Middlesbrough to Whitby (I'm sure Alan Williams would have preferred more trains, but now at least he can look at the ones they have without going outside)
• Droitwich to Worcester and the Cotswold Line. Worcester has a similar system on the old site, although the new setup is simpler and works better. Worcester is the most challenging bit of line, since there's a significant amount of freight which doesn't report as reliably, and it's not obvious which platform things are happening in

The page relates to login. It should only be coming up in a hidden frame, so you should never actually see the page. There's something about the way that iPhones handle parked pages though which seems to make it appear occasionally.

You might have been able to just hit back, although sometimes caching can be a bit funny. In general closing the tab and reopening it from bookmarks every so often, or at least refreshing it, is a good idea, since you will not get any updates or fixes if you just leave the page open.

If you've got any issues like this that you can't easily work around could you drop a message to info at traksy.uk

Added at Christmas last year (discussed in the Signal berth codes thread)

This train or berth at Inverness is clearly out of favour with the signallers

Is that likely for the 08 to go pick up the sleeper?

I didn't know the Inverness area even had this, I thought coverage ended at Perth!

Inverness was added at Christmas, which was a pleasant surprise. Parts of the line north from Perth and east to Aberdeen have been added over the last few years as they've been resignalled.

That explains why I couldn't find it last summer!

Traksy is showing you the timing load, not the actual formation of the train. That train is timed as a 387, but it can run with any class the driver signs (in reality probably just 379, 387 or 700).

I do slightly regret putting the timing load quite so prominently now, but it seems like it used to be a bit more of a reliable guide to reality 8 years ago...
We do have the actual allocations of course now, but only on the new version of the site.

It's really difficult to make detailed changes to the old site now. That's why everyone will get switched over to the new site eventually.

Maybe I'll keep it running as a museum. I'd really like to get everybody switched over, but there's always a few things that aren't quite ready, and then shiny new data like the allocations appears, or I start mapping all the missing bits of the network instead.

Any chance the up main between roofer junction and Chester can be fixed. It's been wrong for so long. Even with the awful new updated map. Trains have to jump tracks and it's very annoying.

What has happened to the Android app? It has stopped working for me so I uninstalled, with the intention of reinstalling - but now it doesn't show up in the Google Play Store?

In terms of the error, I've put it on the list to fix. Please do report things when you notice them - we can't fix problems we don't know about.

Hi Monty. There has never been an app in the Play store. If you go to traksy.uk in Chrome, it should show a pop up offering to install it . If the popup doesn't appear there should be an option to "add to home screen" in the browser menu

This looks like roughly what I worked out as well. I think I was looking at some pictures of the signalbox panel at the same time as the sectional appendix, and the way they were cut up got me thoroughly confused

I'll try to get a fix out in the next few days. For various reasons it's a bit fiddly to release maps to the old website right now.

There's a newer new version of the site is available to subscribers at traksy.uk/newer . This will probably be moved over to be the normal new version in a week or so, but I'm keen to get feedback beforehand on any bugs etc. Hopefully this also brings us a step closer to moving free users onto the new platform as well,

In spite of it having taken most of the past 6 months, there are no massive new features yet. It was necessary to do a heavy rework to fix a lot of bugs and keep coping with the scale of requests (sadly quite a lot of which are from robots rather than real people). It should however have dealt with a mass of bugs. There's a lot of work been done on getting layout right on iPhones and for people who use larger font sizes. All the weird issues with maps jumping around seem to be resolved, and headcodes are staying mapped to trains more reliably.

In terms of new features:

• The way we show allocations is greatly improved (although I haven't actually enabled allocations on the new servers. They should hopefully start appearing later today)
• There's a zoom function on maps, which combined with the search bar hiding on short displays means that it's possible to use the maps in landscape mode on phones
• Timetables are available going back a couple of years. I'm hoping to add back further, and as timetables are added now they won't be removed
• Live times will have 2-4 weeks of data available (although that history is building up from only about a day just now). Bearing in mind that we're primarily a maps site and history is just there for convenience, I'm trying to work out how long I can safely retain for paid and free users without robots overwhelming the site.
• Joining and splitting trains work better, although there's still more work to do on them
• We send much less data to your browser, so it should hopefully work quite a lot better on poor network connections (like you might find on trains)
• If you're on desktop you can press ctrl-f to open up the search bar (ctrl-f twice to use the normal browser search), so navigating entirely on keyboard should be easier

While a lot of the work has been getting everything that previously worked working on the new platform, now we have it it should be easier to roll out new features, so there's more in the pipeline, but in the meantime I'm happy to have any feedback on it as it stands. Many thanks. This is a brilliant resource which is really useful. I got caught in the mess on the ECML hold-ups this weekend and Traksy was invaulable. The train crew did not know what was happening and they asked me to show them the queue of trains ahead of us.

My immediate reaction to the new version is that it is in 'dark mode' on my phone. It looks like a night-time version with a black background which is much harder to read. Is that intentional or is there some quirk with my Android (Samsung) phone? On the plus side, having a landscape mode is really helpful. I was using the old version in landscape mode to track my journey (to be able to see which trains are ahead) and the old version certainly did jump around a lot and was hard to maintain a steady scaling on a phone. So a stable landscape mode will be great. Thanks again. Your work is much appreciated.
