Do you know when the new site will go live to everybody ? I've paid a few times to support etc but I don't really go out much to having it coming out every month lol .
Perhaps as a paid addon, you could use the c2c unit numbers instead of headcode as an option/upgrade . So you can see unit rather than headcode on the maps.
I originally planned to get the new site live for all users quite quickly last year, but there's been a long succession of features which I'd forgotten were in the original product, or things it doesn't quite do right. I think it's essentially at parity now, so I should hopefully be able to start the roll-out in the next couple of months.
Even with the new version serving all the old platform use cases, I do need to sort out a few things. At a minimum I need to:
- Look at bandwidth and processor usage to make sure that the servers will cope
- Integrate ads into the new product for non-subscribers
- Make the landing/search page easier to use and more appealing to our search engine overlords
- Block out some premium features which will be subscriber-only
I'll also likely split things out into a slightly cheaper basic subscription which just removes the ads, and a premium tier which enables fancier features.
I like the idea of being able to show unit numbers instead of headcode, but it probably needs a wider rollout of unit number information. There was some talk of more data being forthcoming for that, but it seems to have gone rather quiet in the last couple of months.
