We decide to bid Scotland farewell for a wee while as we board the 08:30 East Coast service to York arriving at 10:56 on Saturday morning.
I appeared to have found an even more difficult location to find onward connections than that at Smoo Cave at certain weekends with my last offering...
We are fortunate indeed to find an onward railway service that adheres to the 5-minute connection time, so we next board the 0920 First TPE service to Newton-le-Willows that arrives there at 1229 on Sunday afternoon.
HOLD!
I don't get it - the 09:20 (Sundays) from Scarborough is down in TPX's timetable as calling at Seamer, Malton, York, Leeds, Dewsbury, Huddersfield, Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport, where it terminates at 11:55. A search on Realtimetrains suggests that on the 6th of October, the service is running as you describe via Newton-le-Willows, but on the 13th of October its running via Warrington Central, without the Dewsbury call, but with additional call at Stalybridge.
You should use the current timetable for the relevant day not including timetable variations for engineering works. You may use regular timetabled services which you even if boarding is only possible subject to availability (including National Express coach, the Caledonian sleeper and the Jacobite steam train but not railtours). On 25/26 December this game considers a full timetable for the relevant day to be in use.
Yes, the service in question seems to be a timetable variation and not part of the normal published timetable.
As a result of this adjudication, the posting in question has been struck-through.
As such, whosoever will make the next posting will note that the journey has reached Scarborough railway station at 0914 on a Sunday morning.
Stagecoach's timetable says 1234 but never mind
You can tell I'm a bit lost in this neck of the woods
We have an hour to wait in Buxton before crossing the road and boarding the 1603 High Peak "Transpeak" service to Buxton Terrace Road arriving at 1629 on Sunday.
An hour in where??
We wait for the transpeak bus to return from the rail station and catch it at 1639 to Derby Bus station, arriving at 1820 Sunday evening
Sorry, the wait was in Ashford-in-the-Water. For some reason when I was rewording the post from an earlier version, "in Buxton" ended up there. Looks like this has not affected the continuation of the quiz though. An hour in where??

I guessed as much which is why I blundered on.
My last move has left the next contestant a pretty problem.
I feel that my recent posting to Osgodby (Hill Top), with the inordinate time for the next service, has neither been forgotten or forgiven...
My researches into the current impasse continue.
We find overnight accommodation and then catch the Notts and Derby unibus 8 service next morning at 0820 and travel to Buxton (opp University Campus), arriving at 0915 Monday morning
