Unfortunately there are no more services tonight within the timeframe so we settle down on the English Riviera until the first train of the morning.

We depart on the 06:10 FGW service and alight at Starcross arriving 06:55 on Tuesday morning.

We quickly investigate the ferry to Exmouth and find we are far too early for it, so we leave the station and catch the Stagecoach south west no 2 service at 0709 to Exeter Bus station, arriving at 0740 on Tuesday morning

Not wanting to get stuck going back and forth on the same route for the afternoon we decide to venture a little further by boarding the 16:18 SWT service to Ascot arriving at 16:30 on Tuesday afternoon.

With not many other options available to us from this station we decide to head back to the big city. We board the 17:12 South West Trains service all the way to it's terminus at London Waterloo, where we arrive at 18:34 on Tuesday evening.

Whilst in reality it might be doable reality has little to do with this game

The MCT at Euston is 15 minutes

Having travelled up the WCML during the night we now take a daylight journey along the ECML on the 07:30 East Coast service to London Kings Cross arriving at 11:50 on Wednesday.

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
The MCT at Euston is 15 minutes

I concur with you over this.

Game moves
You must depart from the station or stop where the previous post arrived using a permitted timetabled public transport service. The minimum connection time for the station or stop must be allowed for. Where this is not published, a minimum interchange time is considered to be five minutes.

The usual extract from the rules.

This is indeed the case and so we remain at London Euston at 2338 on Tuesday with Rich McLean having priority to post the next move until 1000 tomorrow after which time it becomes open floor.

That's not valid either unfortunately. The rules require you to use the first available service to reach your destination after allowing the minimum connection time and there is a departure at 2357 which will get you to Watford Junction at 0044. Back we go again to London Euston at 2338 on Tuesday again wich Rich McLean having priority to post the next move until 1000 after which time it becomes open floor.

As we don't want to head north, we decide to bunk down for the night and await the first service back to London Euston which is operated by London Midland and departs at 0410. We arrive into London Euston at 0435 on Wednesday Morning.

Sorry but you can't do that. You have to take a service within 2 hours of the first available service after allowing the minimum connection time. The last post left you at Watford Junction at 0044 and the connection time is 5 minutes so the first available service that could be taken is the 0101 service to Milton Keynes and since there are no departures between 0101 and 0301 then this service must be taken. We remain at Watford Junction at 0044 on Wednesday with ModernRailways having priority to post the next move until 1117 after which time it becomes open floor.

We are lucky and manage to see there is still one more service from this station. We wait on the platform for the 0101 London Midland service. We were going to get off at Hemel Hempstead but we fall asleep and so end up at it's terminus at Milton Keynes Central where we arrive at 0148 early Wednesday morning.
