Time to prepare for our onward journey and decide to head northwards to the coastal area with many available onward connections, so we bid adieu to our recent area of visits and board the 1340 Clynnog & Trefor service 12 to Caernarfon bus station that arrives there at 1425 on Thursday afternoon.

Pipped at the post in our attempt to flee the principality. we decide to have another steam ride on the 1550 Welsh Highland Railway departure, eventually arriving in Porthmadog at 1825 Thursday evening

The present operating constraints at Porthmadog Harbour station mean we sit outside waiting to reverse in while watching the 1820 Ffestiniog Railway service to Blaenau Ffestiniog depart.

But undaunted in our attempts to reach Blaenau, we while away the time with fish and chips in Porthmadog, and then board the 1950 Express Motors 1B service, arriving in Blaenau Ffestiniog at 2020, Thursday evening.

We are just too late for the last train of the day down the valley. so we find a bed for the night.

We cannot really justify hanging around until nearly lunchtime for the first Ffestiniog departure, so we have an early start on the 0630 ATW departure to Llandudno Junction, arroving at 0731 Friday morning

We take the 07:54 Arriva Trains Wales service to Manchester Oxford Road, arriving at 09:48 on Friday

We continue our flight from Wales on TPE's 1019 departure to Lockerbie, arriving at 1230 Friday lunch time

We take the 13:11 TransPennine Express service to Oxenholme, arriving at 14:09 Friday

We make our way along Helmside Road to the bus stop at the A65 junction and catch Stagecoach 567 at 1457 to Kirkby Lonsdale, New Road arriving at 1517, Friday afternoon

Time to go for a hot drink before boarding the 1544 Stagecoach in Lancaster service 81B to Lancaster bus station that arrives there at 1632 on Friday afternoon.

We catch the 89 Wyre Villager bus at 1640 arriving at Knott End Ferry Approach at 1736, Friday afternoon

We take the 17:45 Wyre Ferry to Fleetwood, arriving at 18:00 on Friday

Time surely to see what the ride on the new trams are like, so we board the 1810 Blackpool Transport tramway to Blackpool Pleasure Beach that arrives there at 1859 on Friday afternoon.

We take the 19:03 Blackpool Transport route 1 to North Pier, arriving 19:14 on Friday

We have some evening refreshments before our journey on the 2029 Northern service from Blackpool North to York, arriving at 2342 on Friday evening

We take the 01:52 TransPennine Express service to Manchester Airport, arriving 04:00 on Saturday morning

Another of the TPE Class 185 fleet beckons and we board the 0520 First TPE service to Cleethorpes that arrives at 0844 on Saturday morning.

We take the 09:00 Northern service to Barton on Humber, arriving at 09:48 on Saturday

Once again, we are swayed by omnibus travel and walk to the bus stop outside the railway station and board the 0955 Stagecoach in Lincolnshire service 450 to Brigg (Cary Lane) that arrives there at 1038 on Saturday morning.

We wander around in search of breakfast, then take the 11:44 Northern service to Kiveton Bridge, arriving at 13:00 on Saturday

We walk out of the railway station to the bus stop on Wales Road and board the 1412 First South Yorkshire service to Rotherham (Corporation Street/Domine Lane) that arrives there at 1443 on Saturday afternoon.

We make our way to Central station for the 1505 Northern departure to Adwick, arriving at 1543 Saturday afternoon

We leave the railway station and walk to the bus stop on Doncaster Way where we board the 1614 First South Yorkshire service 50A to Doncaster (North Bridge Road/Church Way) that arrives there at 1633 on Saturday afternoon.

We make our way to the station for a Cross Country train to Reading, departing at 1758 and arriving at 2110 Saturday evening

We hunt down somewhere to have a quick dinner, then take the 21:57 First Great Western service to Bath Spa, arriving at 23:05 Saturday

We continue on the 2327 FGW departure to Frome, arriving at 0008 on Sunday morning

Time to seek overnight accommodation of any type and after the usual hearty breakfast that is regarded as the norm in this area and a potential source of heart attacks in medical circles, we return to the railway station to make a seaside visit and board the 0922 FGW service to Weymouth that arrives there at 1042 on Sunday morning.

We take the 10:48 South West Trains service to Southampton Airport Parkway, arriving at 12:32 Sunday

We continue on First's A service at 1247 to Eastleigh Bus Station, arriving 1257, Sunday lunch time.

Sunday is always a poor day for services so we wait until it is time to board the 1436 Bluestar Bus service 2 to Southampton (Havelock Road) that arrives at 1509 on Sunday afternoon.

We make our way to Central Station and catch the 1522 FGW service as far as Barnham, arriving at 1630, Sunday afternoon.
