Luckily the 12 is quite a frequent service so we catch the next one half an hour later and continue to Rhyl station, arriving at 2121 Wednesday evening

We find there is time to partake of an evening meal so we replenish ourselves and decide that a rail journey is acceptable at this time of the day, so we board the 2238 ATW service to Holyhead that arrives there at 0005 on Thursday morning.

We must have had enough of North Wales by now. So we find a bed for the night before returning later on to catch the 08:55 Virgin Trains service which takes us to Crewe arriving at 10:54 Thursday morning.

We continue on a London Midland service at 1133, landing up at Northampton at 1340, Thursday afternoon

We decide that the Midlands is a good place to plan out connections onwards so we just have time to board the 1345 LM service to Stafford that arrives there at 1453 on Thursday afternoon.

The 1525 XC departure looks a good idea, and we travel to Winchester, arriving at 1824 on Thursday afternoon

Leaving the railway station, we take the short walk to the bus stop on City Road where we board the 1842 Stagecoach in Hampshire service 86 to Whitchurch (Hants) (Whitchurch Square) that arrives there at 1912 on Thursday evening.

We have time for a leisurely meal before making our way to the station to catch the 2020 SWT departure, arriving at Pinhoe at 2234, Thursday evening

We take the short walk to the bus stop outside the Heart of Oak on Main Road and deciding not to call in for a drink, we soon board the 2254 Stagecoach Devon service 1 to Exeter bus station that arrives there at 2305 on Thursday night.....which is quite good considering the day started at Holyhead

We have time to catch the last Stagecoach 57 service at 2315 to Exmouth Parade, arriving at 2348 Thursday evening.

After such a remarkable Thursday, we decide to treat ourselves to the comfort and well-appointed luxury that is found in the Imperial Hotel (where we have stayed many times) and arrange for an early morning alarm call with breakfast served in the bedroom and fully replenished in body and mind (without a single side effect of the ailment suffered from in Ynys Mon called RHOSTRCHFA SYNDROME ), we make our way to the bus station rather than the railway station where we board the 0638 Stagecoach Devon service 157 to Sidmouth (Sidmouth Triangle) that arrives there at 0732 on Friday morning.

We explore the early morning town and sea front, then catch Dartline 387 at 0905, travelling to Trull, Crown Inn, arriving at 1032, Friday morning

We spend a pleasant time having a mid-morning tea and buttered crumpets in such a pleasant locale then it is time to make a short journey onwards to a much larger settlement that hosts the county cricket ground and we board the 1126 Hatch Green Coaches service 97 to Taunton (Fore Street Parade) that arrives there on 1144 on Friday morning.

We make the journey from Fore Street to Taunton Station on foot, replenishing ourselves with some Walkers prawn cocktail-flavoured crisps after we've arrived. Upon deciding that it would be rather nice to see the Devon coast, we catch the 12:29 FGW service to Paignton, arriving there at 13:43.

Friday afternoon in Paignton is a good time for scones and tea to enjoy and we decide to change the mode of travel again, so it is only a short walk to the bus station where we board the 1420 First in Devon and Cornwall service X80 to Plymouth (Bretonside bus station) that arrives there at 1541 on Friday afternoon.

We catch Western Greyhound's 576 service at 1605 and arrive in Callington New Road at 1650 (assuming it's a college day - 5 minutes earlier if it isn't) Friday afternoon

Time to visit St Mary's church with its external castellated ornamention and to see the marble tomb of a past knight inside before we return to the bus stop where we board the 1815 First in Devon and Cornwall service 76 to Burraton (Callington Road) that arrives there at 1837 on Friday afternoon.

Now on the 1858 First Devon & Cornwall service to Plymouth Railway Station arriving at 1920 on Friday.

Onwards again by rail as we board the 1949 XC service to St Austell that arrives there at 2041 on Friday evening.

After stopping for a supper of some description, we walk to Trinity Street in St. Austell where we board the Western Greyhound 520 service to Truro at 22:11. We arrive in Truro Bus Station at 22:48 and partake in a successful search for overnight accommodation, thus bringing Friday to an end.

We had the foresight to book an early morning alarm call and Saturday sees us with a hearty full Cornish breakfast to sustain us and we have plenty of time to return to the bus station where we board the 0714 First in Devon and Cornwall service 88B to Falmouth (The Moor) that arrives there at 0805 on Saturday morning.

Time for a change of mode of transport - we stroll down to the quay and catch the Enterprise ferry at 0900, back to Truro Town Quay, arriving at 1000 Saturday morning

Refreshed and invigorated by our river journey from one maritime settlement, we look forward to visiting another more southerly marine settlement, so we walk the short distance from the quayside to the bus station (calling in at Marks and Spencer en route for some ready made sandwiches) and we board the 1025 First in Devon and Cornwall service 18 to Penzance bus station that arrives there at 1215 on Saturday afternoon.

We have a leisurely lunch and then leave on the 1310 Western Greyhound 504 bus to Sennen Cove, arriving at 1420, Saturday afternoon

We spend a leisurely hour sightseeing until it is time to board the 1545 First in Devon and Cornwall service 300 to St Just (terminal) that arrives at 1608 on Saturday afternoon.

We just have time to board First's 10 service at 1610 to Trengwainton Gardens, arriving 1623 Saturday afternoon

Trengwainton Gardens is situated in the historic settlement of Madron, where there can be found, Madron Well, a Cornish Celtic sacred site, whose waters were reputed to have healing properties, but unfortunately we do not have the pieces of rag to attach there with the others, so we continue with our sightseeing for some time until it is time to return to the major settlement of the area so reluctantly, we board the 1813 First in Devon and Cornwall service 10A to Penzance bus station that arrive there at 1830 on Saturday afternoon.

We note there are numerous arrivals at the rail station during the course of the evening but few departures so we decide to catch the 1906 FGW departure to Liskeard arriving at 2034 Saturday evening

Time for a short branch line rail journey, so we board the 2040 FGW service to St Keyne Wishing Well Halt that arrives at 2053 on Saturday night.

Having concluded that the transport links in the St. Keynes area aren't really suitable enough for us to be making long journeys at this time of night, we wander into the village to find somewhere to stay overnight. Come Sunday morning, we catch the Western Greyhound 573 service at 10:34, arriving in Polperro Crumplehorn at 11:07 on Sunday morning.
