After a hot drink and some Valium tablets to settle our nerves, we board the 1845 National Express Airport service 201 to Heathrow Airport (Central Bus Station) that arrives at 2045 on Friday evening.

Suitably chastised, we board the 1715 National Express service 530 to Paignton bus station that arrives at 2035 on Friday evening.

We catch the Heathrow Connect at 2057, alighting at Hanwell (and Elthorne as was) at 2109

I was not sure which day we were on after all the recent excitements..

However, having established it is Friday evening, we board the 2125 London Bus service 195 to Brentford (County Court), which arrives a few minutes later at 2132...on Friday evening.

We take the 21:41 (I can't find the operator) route 267 to Hammersmith, Hammersmith & City/CIrcle line station, arrving 22:05 Friday

Not long to wait before we board the 2216 London Bus service 220 to Morden Underground Station (terminus on the Northern Line) that arrives there at 2303 on Friday night.

We catch a Nrrthern Line train at 2309, arriving at London Bridge at 2338, Friday evening

We now take the 2352 Southeastern service to London Charing Cross that arrives there at 0001 on Saturday morning.

We continue on the N5 Metro Line bus from Trafalgar Square's Lower East Side at 0035, alighting at Golders Green Station (North End Road) at 0118 Saturday morning

That N5 bus is rather regular. We decide to wait for the next N5 to arrive, which it does at 0129 and we board it and decide that London Euston would be a useful place to visit and the bus arrives there at 0155 on Saturday morning.

We decide to call it a day and book into the adjacent Travelodge

Next (well the same actually) morning we catch the 0846 London Midland service to Rugeley Trent Valley arriving at 1043 Saturday

We decide to spend sometime on the station deciding which will be the best place to go with plenty of onward destinations before boarding the 1142 LM service to Birmingham New Street that arrives there at 1236 on Saturday afternoon

WE then board the 1303 XC to Wakefield Westgate, arriving 1446 Saturday afternoon.

Time for a snack and a hot drink before we board the 1529 Northern service to Huddersfield that arrives there at 1605 on Saturday afternoon.

We catch the 313 West Yorkshire bus outside the station at 1621, travelling to Holmfirth Bus Station, arriving at 1657, Saturday afternoon

Just enough time to call outside the "shrine" that was the residence of Nora Batty, then back to the bus station, where we board the 1730 Stotts Coaches service 335 to Slaithwaite Health Centre that arrives at 1801 on Saturday afternoon.

We take a stroll to the station and get the 1837 Northern departure, getting off at Greenfield at 1851, Saturday evening

Just missed the bus connection by a matter of a very few minutes and resign ourselves to wait for the 1950 First Manchester service 180 to Oldham bus station that finally arrives there (via Uppermill) at 2044 on Saturday evening.

We take the 20:50 First Manchester route 350 to Tameside General Hospital, arrving 21:44

We continue on the next 350 bus an hour later to Ashton Bus station, arriving 2250, Saturday evening

We then board the 2320 Stagecoach Manchester service 216 to Droylsden (Market Place) that arrives at 2330 on Saturday night.

There's a little over an hour to wait before catching to 0040 departure on the same service to Manchester Piccadilly, arriving at 0055 Sunday morning

We do not have long to wait for the 0109 Stagecoach Manchester service 43 to Manchester Airport bus station that arrives at 0155 on Sunday morning.

Well an airport is not that bad a place to spend a night and as the overnight TPE departures seem to be substitute buses, we wait for the first proper train departure at 0750, getting off at Dewsbury at 0922, Sunday morning

Sunday morning is always quiet on Dewsbury station and we wait until it is time to board the 1003 Northern "stopping" service to Cottingley that arrives at 1015 on Sunday morning

We catch the First No 3 service at 1027 and travel to Vicar Lane, arriving 1102, Sunday morning

We cross over the road and await the arrival of the 1149 Yorkshire Coastliner service 843 to Staxton (Little Chef) that arrives there at 1415 on Sunday afternoon.

We pig out in the Little Chef and consequently miss the next Coastliner in both directions, so we land up at 1615 on the 845 Coastliner to Bridlington Bus Station, arriving 1653, Sunday afternoon
