We call it a night their and spend an unpleasant night on a bench in Leigh Bus Station. We head back out on the 06:05 First Manchester route X34 to Broad Street, Pendleton Church arrving 06:39 on Friday

I was a bit like the woman in the old song..Oh!, Mr Porter...I wanted to go to Bolton and the'yve taken me on to Leigh.... (Well, at least my version of the story is that)...Also, I posted the wrong answer on the wrong quiz...to make matters doubly wrong...:cry:

However, back to the journey and Pendleton...

We cross over the road to the precinct and board the 0649 First Manchester service 67 to Cadishead (Liverpool Road) that arrives there at 0739 on Friday morning.

We have a nice short connection onto the 07:47 First Mancheser route 100 to Trafford Centre, arriving 08:19 Friday

Between us, with un-numbered buses, followed by wrong town on wrong quiz, we are not doing very well..Because we now find that a journey that we set off on on a Friday morning from Cadishead to the Trafford Centre takes 6 days to get there and does not arrive until Thursday morning...hock:

Let us make it all "sweetness and light" again on this quiz, by using the right day and also to make the "Bolton" trip that was missed...and let us do it on one of the longest bus routes in Greater Manchester (Fortunately for only part of the journey)....

After a short visit to "The Vatican of the North" (named as such because of its domes), we return to the bus stops and board the 0850 First Manchester service 22 to Bolton bus station that arrives there at 0956...on Friday morning

We make our way to the rail station and catch the 1020 Northern service to Clitheroe, arriving at 1117 Friday morning

We walk to the array of bus stops outside Clitheroe Interchange, which make this station so good and have no time problems in boarding the 1132 Little Red Bus service 10 to Cow Ark (Telephone Kiosk) that arrives there at 1147 on Friday morning.

We have 2hrs 15 minutes to wait and wander about, making the odd phone call, in the delightful Lancashire countryside before catching the next Little Red Bus no 10/11 on to Horton in Ribblesdale arriving at 1518 Friday afternoon

Did you not know that the 10 and 11 run in reverse routes. These services, when Tyrer Bus ran them only went as far as Slaidburn, where the Little Red Bus Service then made connections. Now it is one long through service that Little Red Bus have won the contract for. My wife and I have already enjoyed a couple of trips from Clitheroe Interchange on this new service...COW ARK is a most unusually named settlement, hence the reason why I named it....

Back to the journey....

We spend some time seeing around this settlement, before making our way to the railway station with a "scenic ride" in mind, so we board the 1553 Northern service to Armathwaite that arrives there at 1708 on Friday afternoon.

The weekly Fellrunner bus left hours ago, so we return by train in the direction of Leeds, on the Northern 1832 departure, getting off at Bingley at 2034, Friday evening.

We are indeed fortunate that a bus service onwards is available from outside the railway station, without any long wait being involved at this time of the day, so we board the 2040 Keighley and District service 662 to Bradford Interchange that arrives there at 2108 on Friday evening.

We have an irrational urge to visit the seaside, so catch the 2113 Northern service to Blackpool North, arriving at 2259, Friday evening

Strolling the short downhill North Road from the railway station to the Promenade, we are in time to board the 2316 Blackpool Transport service 1 to Rossall Beach (Way Gate) that arrives there at 2333 on Friday night.

Whilst the buses seem to have packed up for the night the trams are still running, so we catch the 0006 from Rossall Beach and travel though to Pleasure Beach, arriving at 0038 Saturday morning

Since the weather is warm still and it is too late to book in anywhere, we find a bench and spend some hours watching the movements of the tide, then it is over to the railway station where we board the 0544 Northern service to Colne that arrives there at 0732 on Saturday morning.

We have time for a leisurely breakfast before catching the NX540 coach at 0910 which wanders about Lancashire all morning before taking us to London (VCS), arriving at 1650 Saturday afternoon. We sleep most of the journey

The pre-booking made when we planned this journey at Colne certainly paid off as we show our documents to the Inspector and are directed onto the 1730 Megabus M6 service to Redruth, outside the railway station, which arrives at 0100 on Sunday morning.

Not bad at all...Colne to Redruth, with only one change....

Now we take the 1000 First Devon & Cornwall service 34 to Helston Blue Anchor arriving at 1032 on Sunday.

Sunday morning is quiet in Helston, but we are informed that we do have time for a snack and a hot drink, as there will be a direct service to our next port of call in just less than an hour, so we do this and suitably refreshed, we board the 1120 First in Devon and Cornwall service 35 to Falmouth (The Moor) that arrives there at 1220 on Sunday afternoon.

Back to the rails. We take a brisk walk to Penmere and take the 1242 FGW departure to Truro, arriving at 1302 Sunday afternoon

We have some time to wait for our onward connection, being a Sunday service, so we cross the road outside the railway station to the bus stop, where we board the 1348 Western Greyhound service 587 to Perranporth (Beach Road) that arrive there at 1415 on Sunday afternoon.

Time for a leisurely stroll around before catching Western Greyhound's 547 service at 1505 to Copperhouse Post Office, arriving at 1605 Sunday afternoon.

Copperhouse is a district of Hayle, where we spend a little time looking around, before it is time to make a short onward bus journey, so we return from whence we started our walk and we board the 1707 First in Devon and Cornwall service 18B to St Erth (Station Approach) that arrives at 1719 on Sunday afternoon.

We are just in time to catch First's 300 service at 1722 to St Ives Malakoff, arriving at 1734 Sunday evening.

Now on the 1846 First Devon & Cornwall 14B service to Camborne Bus Station arriving at 1920 on Sunday.

Time for a meal and a hot drink before we board the 2050 National Express coach 404 to St Austell bus station that arrives at 2155 on Sunday evening.

We catch the FGW service at 2218 and travel to Paddington, arriving at 0700 (berth vacation time) on Monday morning

Out of our berth, we have time to have a quick breakfast to sustain us for the onward journey, then we board the 0745 FGW service to Swansea that arrives there at 1044 on Monday morning.
