At least we can get a cup of coffee to sustain us after our night under the stars in Copley before boarding the 0758 First 560 service to King Cross, arriving 0819 Friday morning.

Just in time to exchange our rubber wheels for broomsticks as we board the 1053 Transdev X43 "Witch Way" service to Stangeways, arriving at Great Ducie St at 1155, Friday morning.

Be extremely careful to name that area correctly, otherwise the inmates at Strangeways penal establishment will become somewhat confused...:D

We cross over the very busy road to the bus stop opposite to our disembarkation point with the help of two off-duty warders and board the 1221 Lancashire United service X41 to Knuzden Brook (Old Mother Redcar) that arrive there at 1335 on Friday afternoon.

Even later still now, so we choose an available long ride from the services still running and board the 2250 Huddersfield Bus Company service 528 to Triangle (Dodge Royd Wood) that arrives there at 2325 on Thursday evening.

Yet even later still, we make for the East St stop at Triangle for the last Centrebus [Huddersfield Bus Company] service 531, to Copley, arriving at Copley Hall St at 2348, Thursday evening.

Sorry folks but isn't this a walk between two bus stops? Just checked google maps and there's a 6min walk between them. Though I'm not sure why we made the walk as the stops are just down the road from each other.

If the move did indeed involve a six minute walk to another bus stop and not just a walk across the road to another bus stop from the same location then it would be void.

So where does this leave us ?
Having checked on the map, this is indeed a walk along the road to a different bus stop and so this post and others following are void and we remain at Triangle Dodge Royd Wood at 2325 on Thursday. The 1 hour period for Welshman to post a new move starts from 1812.

As I've only just seen this at 2020, then obviously I've missed my chance!

This was my post #4410.

But this is the same bus I proposed back in #4410, which now seems to be causing this dispute!!
From Sowerby Bridge it goes on Wakefield Rd to Copley, and then empty to the garage in Elland.

Ironically, the Centrebus [Huddersfield Bus Co] 528 and 531 share the same route and bus stops between the bottom of Mill Bank lane in Triangle and the bottom of Bolton Brow in Sowerby Bridge! Had the interchange been made at any other bus stop, there would have been no problem!

There wasn't anything wrong with the bus, the issue was the walk between the two bus stops.

The 1 hour time period is a period in which only you can post a new move, once this time has expired it becomes open floor but that doesn't prevent you from posting.

Sorry - I didn't explain myself clearly.

From local knowledge, I know that the 528 follows Rochdale Rd through Triangle down to Sowerby Bridge, and the 531 comes down Mill Bank Rd to join Rochdale Rd at the Triangle Inn, and then follows the same route and stops as the 528 as far as Bolton Brow, Sowerby Bridge. So if I change my boarding stop in post #4410 to Dodge Royd Wood, ie a little further down Rochdale Rd in the Sowerby Bridge direction, we shall then be OK, and the rules would have been followed.

It would have been but the game has already moved on with Trainfan making the next post taking us to Sowerby Bridge.

However on searching, I don't seem to be able to find a stop called Bolton Brow/Old Cawsey. HOLDING for clarification on if this stop actually exists.

Well the problem is, the traveline didn't give me a Name, but that is where it shows the bus stop as being.

You can ask traveline for a list of all stops on the route. Was your stop simply named Sowerby Bridge?

For Sowerby Bridge it lists:

Sowerby Bridge, Rochdale Road, E bound (45020958)
Sowerby Bridge, West Street Watson Mill La, (45020956)
Sowerby Bridge, West Street Foundry St, (45020954)
Sowerby Bridge, (45022993)

Sowerby Bridge, Wharf Street, (45023045)
Sowerby Bridge, (45022987)
Sowerby Bridge, Wakefield Rd Walker Lane, (45022986)
Sowerby Bridge, Wakefield Road Highfields, (45022983)
Sowerby Bridge, Wakefield Rd Washer Lane

Thanks. We are indeed at the stop simply named Sowerby Bridge then and will will RESUME by boadring the first service the next day, the 05:15 Hudderfield Bus Company route 579 service to Sowerby, Rooley Heights arriving at 05:24 on Friday. To clarify the rules on walking between bus stops, you may only do so in order to travel in a different direction from the same location This will usually just involve crossing the road but there are times like in this example where the stops are staggered.

A most tactical move to remove us from the scene of confusion.....Nonetheless, the appeal for clarification came just after my posting of the quaintly named Knuzden Brook (Old Mother Redcar)...:(

We are indeed fortunate to arrive in Manchester Victoria railway station at this time, as this affords us plenty of time to board the 0800 Northern service to Whalley that arrives at 0906 on Friday morning.

We get to the bus stops on King Street just in time to see a bus on route 280 leave, so we decided to wander around Whalley for an hour, before taking the 10:15 route 280 (changes number to X80 at Clitheroe) to Skipton, Rail Station, arriving 11:01 Friday
