Embracing the chance to use a train, we board the 20:42 Northern service to Littleborough, arriving there at 21:23 on a Tuesday.

We then exit the station to the Square, where we sample the local buses as we board the 2132 First Halifax, Calder Valley & Huddersfield service 590 to Halifax (Bus Station), arriving there at 2243 on Tuesday evening.

Next, we walk to Halifax railway station before boarding the 22:58 ∩orthern rail service to Manchester Victoria, arriving there at 23:48 on Tuesday evening.

We then head to the light rail platforms, where we board the 2355 Metrolink service to Trafford Bar, arriving there at 0008 on Wednesday morning.

Here we're in time for the 00:18 Arriva North West service 263 to Broadheath, nr Sinderland Road, arriving at 00:41 early Wednesday morning.

We call it a day before returning to the bus stop on the opposite side of the road for the 0538 Arriva North West service 19 to Wythenshawe (Interchange), arriving there at 0628 on Wednesday morning.

Next, we board the 06:52 Stagecoach Greater Manchester route 368 bus service to Stockport (Grand Central Stop WW), arriving there at 07:34 on Wednesday morning.

We walk into the adjacent station and board the 08:04 Virgin Trains (WC) service to Lichfield Trent Valley, arriving there at 09:00 on a Wednesday.

Next, we get on the 09:17 London Northwestern rail service to Crewe, arriving there at 10:24 on Wednesday morning.

Here we leave the station and cross the river to the bus station, where we board the 18:55 First South & West Wales service T1S to Cross Hands, outside Library, arriving at 19:12 Wednesday evening.

We then take the 0.3 mile walk further along the road to The Dun Cow, where we board the 1108 Arriva Midlands service 1 to Monkmoor Road, Monkmoor Hotel arriving there at 1114 on Thursday morning.

Here we walk round to corner to Rushton Road, where we board the 11:36 Arriva Midlands North service 23 to Abbey Foregate, opp Abbey Church, arriving at 11:51 Thursday morning.

We take the 3 minute walk to 'Mansers' and board the 1208 Arriva Midlands service 546 to Pulverbatch, Bebbington Cottages arriving there at 1230 on Thursday lunchtime.

We decide to walk up to the pub in the village to get some lunch, before emergin a couple of hours later for the 14:35 Arriva Midlands North service 546 to Shrewsbury, opp Market Hall, arriving at 15:01 Thursday afternoon.

We take the 0.2 mile walk to Mardol Junction and board the 1542 Arriva Midlands service 70 to Bicton, School arriving there at 1554 on Thursday.

We now board the 16:29 Arriva Midlands North service 70 to Oswestry, adj Bear Hotel, arriving at 17:06 Thursday afternoon.
