We continue our tour of Islay by strolling to the bus stop at Portnahaven at the end of the High Street, from which we board the 16:22 Islay Coaches route 450 bus service past Bruichladdich to Bowmore (Co-op), arriving there at 17:08 on Monday afternoon.

We then spend the next hour having a look round this delightful town, before walking to RBS and boarding the 18:09 Islay Coaches service 451 to Ballygrant, nr Post Office, arriving at 18:26 Monday evening.

I think the 07:22 to Port Ellen might be our best oportunity to leave the Island, ferries are far from frequent!

We decide to call it a day and retire to our accommodation. On Tuesday morning, we board the 07:22 Islay Coaches route 451 bus service to Port Ellen (Charlotte Street), arriving there at 08:02.

Saying goodbye to Islay, we board the 09:46 Caledonian Macbryne service CM9 to Kennacraig, arriving at 11:55 Tuesday morning.

After taking some Instagram-worthy photos of the castle and Loch Goil, we return to the bus stop and board the 17:20 West Coast Motors route 484 bus service to Dunoon (Ferry Terminal), arriving there at 18:40 on Tuesday evening.

We then board the 18:50 Argyle Ferries service to Gourock Ferry Terminal, arriving at 19:15 Tuesday evening.

Stepping off what is actually an Argyll Ferries foot passenger-only service at Gourock Ferry Terminal (the ferry actually runs into central Gourock rather than McInroy's Point, which is for the Western Ferries car ferry service from Hunter's Quay), we walk to Gourock railway station before boarding the 19:24 ScotRail train service to Glasgow Central, arriving there at 20:15 on Tuesday evening.

Next, we walk to Renton railway station where we're just in time to board the 21:49 ScotRail train service to Springburn, arriving there at 22:48 on Tuesday evening.

I think that’s it for the night (a few more buses arrive but they seem to run on out of service), so we pitch up our imaginary tent here, cook some dinner and then in the morning we pack up and board the 05:16 Stagecoach in the Fens ‘The Busway’ service B to Stilton, opposite Glebe Road, arriving at 06:04 Thursday morning.
