With not much choice, we board the 21:34 Northern service to Steeton & Silsden, arriving there at 21:44 on a Monday.

There's not much in the way of buses here, so we continue back down the line on the 21:58 Northern service 2H77 to Saltaire, arriving at 22:12 Monday evening.

We take the 8 minute walk to Saltaire Roundabout where we board the 22:33 The Keighley Bus Company route 60 service to Thwaites, Wenning Street/Valley Rd, arriving there at 22:48 on a Monday.

That would appear to be it for the day, so we find somewhere to pitch our tent bed down in the middle of the roundabout, and in the morning we board the 05:18 The Keighley Bus Company service 60 to Crossflatts, Keighley Rd Canal Road, arriving at 05:25 Tuesday morning.

With Crossflats station a short walk away, we choose to take it, boarding the 05:39 Northern service to Armathwaite, arriving there at 07:44 on a Tuesday.

There's not a lot going on here, so we take a walk down to admire the river Eden, before returning to the station to board the 08:38 Northern service 2H85 to Ribblehead, arriving at 09:47 Tuesday morning.

The viaduct is attractive, so it warrants a visit. With no buses, we are tied to the next train departure which is the 10:39 Northern service to Carlisle, arriving there at 12:01 on a Tuesday.

Having just missed the Cumbrian Coast train by 1 minute, we reluctantly head over to platform 6 for the 12:47 Northern service 1N64 to Hexham, arriving at 13:37 Tuesday afternoon.

We then board the 1504 Go North East 'Tynedale Express' service X84 to Newcastle General Hospital, arriving there at 1551 on Tuesday afternoon.

We then board the 16:13 Stagecoach North East service X82 to Throckley Newburn Road - Sainsburys, arriving at 16:31 Tuesday afternoon.

Walking to Wallsend Metro Station, we then board the 17:55 Nexus Tyne and Wear Metro Yellow Line service all the way round to Ilford Road, arroving at 18:33 Tuesday evening.

Here, we have a look round the town, decideing against an evening dip in the sea, and then return to the station to board the 22:41 Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council service 708 to Loftus Dundas Street, arriving at 23:07 Tuesday evening.

We stop off overnight and return the following morning for the 0515 Arriva North East Sapphire service 5 to Middlesbrough (Teesside University on Borough Road), arriving there at 0555 on Wednesday morning.

We take the short walk from the station to the adjacent Rassbottom Street bus stop and board the 0934 Stagecoach Manchester service 237 to Glossop (Talbot Road) that arrives there at 1016 on Wednesday morning.

Noting it is daylight, and still in fact the morning, we make the 0.4 mile walk to Henry Street to join the 1100 Moorlands Connect service DCB to Furness Vale, Soldier Dick (on Buxton Road) arriving there at 1131 on Wednesday morning.

We next check our portable sundial to see if the correct portion of the day is revealed and then board the 1142 High Peak "Skyline" service 199 to Fairfield (opposite Tomthorn on the A6) that arrives there at 1210 on Wednesday afternoon.
