Are we OK, or have we got stuck?

I have absolutely no idea, to be honest!

If we can find our way back to Cardiff Central, trains start with a 0734 departure on a Sunday I think, on which we could head towards Ebbw Vale...

Yes but there are buses earlier we could potentially use first (if we're still applying the keep-moving-where-you-can theory! )

Some of us seemed stymied by that newly-announced timetable, unfortunately.

I'm not quite sure what to suggest then :/ the timetable is listed clearly online.

We give up waiting for a bus that we're not too sure is going to arrive, and then take a 30 or so minute walk to Cardiff Central Railway Station, whereby we arrive around 03:40 this Sunday morning.

Hopefully that'll be viewed as bending, not breaking, the rules!

You know that's about 1.2 miles? Also if you had taken us to Sophia Gardens we could have caught a National Express bus.

We then have the night at the station before boarding the 07:34 Arriva Trains Wales service to Newport (South Wales) arriving at 07:50 on Sunday morning.

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England

Is that not expecting contestants to have a far deeper insight into the geography of the Cardiff area than would normally be expected to know in order to ascertain where other possible connections may be sought that will be in accordance with the rules of this quiz in the wee small hours of a Sunday morning?

I lost track at how complicated that was! But no, it was just a suggestion.

We enter the station and board the 1616 GWR service to Plymouth that arrives at 1651 on Sunday afternoon.

We then board the 1725 CrossCountry service 1E73 to Leeds, arriving there at 2302 on Sunday evening.

The core TPE section between Manchester and Leeds is blessed with a 24 hour service, and we don't have too long to wait before we board the 0021 TransPennine Express service 1P68 to York, arriving there at 0111 in the early hours of Monday morning.

The only available service within walking distance of this stop appears to be the 341. So we cross the road to Charlesworth, adj Bankwood Mill and take 10:34 High Peak service 341 as far as Glossop, Henry Street (Stop A) where we arrive at 1059 on Monday morning.
