The next Travel South Yorkshire 29 leaves at 21:46, and you get it all the way to Sheffield (Interchange) arriving at 22:16, still on Wednesday evening.

We take the seven minute walk to the bus stop on Dyche Lane and a change of operator next sees us board the 1904 Stagecoach Yorkshire service 1 to High Green (Mortomley Lane/Greengate Lane) that arrives there at 2007 on Wednesday evening.

Because of the various queries that have recently been raised, can the quiz continue from the posting shown above.

Well we can remain in Sheffield but I'd suggest using an earlier service!

Because the query was raised at High Green, that should be the area where quiz is currently at.

Let's continue on to Sheffield centre as planned, but on an earlier service, as I suggested. We are just in time for the 2012 First South Yorkshire service 85 to Sheffield (High Street), arriving there at 2047 on Wednesday evening. We still are much earlier than the previous service which means we can squeeze in more journeys across this large city.

We then board the 2228 First South Yorkshire service 81 to Stannington (Church Street), arriving there at 2322 on Wednesday evening.

I am assuming that the 21:28 would be the same service, so am not using that one.

Get the 22:28 First South Yorkshire 81 to Hilsborough (Holme Lane/Walkley Lane)

Rules
  • You may not re-board the service just used in the previous post

It appears that this part of the rules is the one that is causing confusion to the new contestants to the game.

Perhaps the forum quizmasters who drew up these rules will make an amendment to the wording of this particular rule that will take away all this confusion.

You cannot use this 2228 departure as the previous posting arrived at 2322. You also omitted to show the arrival time on the running "quiz day" in question.

With the Dore example, that service terminates but we were not able to board the returning service on the 81 as it only departed three minutes after our arrival (we allow five on this game).

Anyway, from Malin Bridge, we then board the 0655 Supertram service (on the blue line) to Beighton - Drake House Lane, arriving there at 0741 on Thursday morning.

Please specify the operator of this service and the route number as well please :) in this case, it is the 674 operated by BrightBus.

Leaving the school grounds and heading to the adjacent bus stop on the corner of Aughton Avenue, we then board the 0913 First South Yorkshire service 29 to Rotherham (Interchange), arriving there at 0934 on Thursday morning.

Gameplay

The Aim of the game is to travel around the country using public transport in a pseudo-realistic fashion. To play, you must depart from the station or stop where the previous post arrived using a permitted timetabled public transport service. Having arrived at the destination, the minimum connection time for the station or stop must be allowed for. Where this is not published, a minimum interchange time is considered to be five minutes.

In your post you should clearly state the time your service departs, the company who's service you are using and the time and day of arrival at your chosen destination.

Since the forum quizmasters would prefer the contestants to resolve matters amongst themselves, by the use of the rules and guide notes shown in the first two postings of this game, it seems an opportune time to show the above information for the benefit of new contestants.

I couldn't find the operator!

Walk to Rotherham Central Station and get the 09:41 Northern Service to York and get off at 10:10 at Pontefract Baghill. This is still Thursday morning.

We note the 15 minutes minimum connection time that applies at this large station and decide to board the 1400 VTEC service to Arbroath that arrives there at 2011 on Thursday evening.

______________________________________________________________________________________________

USEFUL NOTE

The BR Times website has full details of all railway station minimum connection times

--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
We have chosen to allow walking between modes of transport in the same vicinity, in this case up to half a mile is permitted. Walking does not count as a move. Please do not abuse this, we have drawn a line at half a mile, which is quite a distance. If a walk is required between an arrival point and a departure point, please show this at the start of your posting.

It comes down to the community to point out any rule breaches, however this shouldn't hold up game play and it may not be necessary to return to the previous post, especially where there has been more than five moves (or 24 hours has elapsed) since the posting in question.

TP

Some more information to note.
