Rather than slowly making our way along the path of the 192, we walk around the corner to Stanley Grove and find a nice corner to nap in for about an hour. We wake up to find the some nice people have donated their spare change to our cause, which we use to board the first First Bus operated 53 service of the day towards Cheetham Hill, which arrives at 05:44. We alight at North Manchester General Hospital at 06:10 on Tuesday morning.

We walk back to Newton Heath & Moston tram stop. Although we do consider returning to Manchester, we instead go the other way and board a Manchester Metrolink tram bound for Rochdale, which arrives at 07:03. We don't make it all the way, though, and bail at Oldham King Street at 07:16 on Monday morning.

We have been deposited in Scarborough at a spot not very convenient for onward connections and too far to walk, so we board a local town service, Scarborough & District service 3A leaving Peasholm Park at 1251, arriving at Scarborough, York Place at 1255 Tuesday afternoon.

We have lots of destinations on offer at Manchester Airport and some of them are even in the UK and reachable by ground transportation.
We board a National Express service 538 coach at 2200, arriving at Birmingham International Airport at 0135 early Wednesday morning.

Coventry railway station is beyond our walking limit from Pool Meadow bus station, so we decide to re-board the National Express West Midlands service 900 departure at 0415, arriving in Birmingham City Centre (Moor St / Queensway) at 0518 Wednesday morning.

We walk the half mile around The Bullring and enter New Street station. Even at this early hour, there's a good choice of services available, and we choose to go to Platform 12A and board the 05:37 Crosscountry service 1V02 bound for Cardiff. We alight at Gloucester at 06:53 on Wednesday morning.

We step off the bus with lots of our fellow passengers making their way to the check-in desks to fly to some exotic destinations. Early morning flights to the US being some of the most popular destinations at this time. Sadly, we're still unable to join them :(

With the airport being so busy at this time of the morning, we don't have to wait long for more buses to turn up. We're able to board the First Berkshire & Thames Valley number 75 service towards Slough bus station, where we arrive at 04:40 on Thursday morning.
