Rather than slowly making our way along the path of the 192, we walk around the corner to Stanley Grove and find a nice corner to nap in for about an hour. We wake up to find the some nice people have donated their spare change to our cause, which we use to board the first First Bus operated 53 service of the day towards Cheetham Hill, which arrives at 05:44. We alight at North Manchester General Hospital at 06:10 on Tuesday morning.
We walk back to Newton Heath & Moston tram stop. Although we do consider returning to Manchester, we instead go the other way and board a Manchester Metrolink tram bound for Rochdale, which arrives at 07:03. We don't make it all the way, though, and bail at Oldham King Street at 07:16 on Monday morning.
Moving away from Manchester now, we then head to the Barn Street bus stop and board the 0801 First Manchester service 184 to Huddersfield (Bus Station), arriving there at 0921 on Tuesday morning.
Time to catch our first train of the day I think. We make the short 5 minute walk to the railway station, and wait for the 09:46 First Transpennine Express 1E65 service bound for Scarborough.
We then exit the station and board the 1141 Transdev Coastliner service 843 to Scarborough (Peasholm Park), arriving there at 1236 on Tuesday afternoon.
We have been deposited in Scarborough at a spot not very convenient for onward connections and too far to walk, so we board a local town service, Scarborough & District service 3A leaving Peasholm Park at 1251, arriving at Scarborough, York Place at 1255Tuesday afternoon.
We take the three minute walk to the bus stop adjacent to the railway station and board the 1320 Arriva North East service X93 to Whitby (Windsor Terrace) that arrives there at 1420 on Tuesday afternoon.
Walking around the corner to the bus station, we then board the 1432 Arriva North East service 4 to Middlesbrough (Bus Station), arriving there at 1626 on Tuesday afternoon.
We have lots of destinations on offer at Manchester Airport and some of them are even in the UK and reachable by ground transportation.
We board a National Express service 538 coach at 2200, arriving at Birmingham International Airport at 0135early Wednesday morning.
We don't have a majorly long wait at this hour of the day, and luckily we can board the 0326 National Express West Midlands service 900A to Coventry (Pool Meadow Bus Station), arriving there at 0402 in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Coventry railway station is beyond our walking limit from Pool Meadow bus station, so we decide to re-board the National Express West Midlands service 900 departure at 0415, arriving in Birmingham City Centre (Moor St / Queensway) at 0518Wednesday morning.
We walk the half mile around The Bullring and enter New Street station. Even at this early hour, there's a good choice of services available, and we choose to go to Platform 12A and board the 05:37 Crosscountry service 1V02 bound for Cardiff. We alight at Gloucester at 06:53 on Wednesday morning.
Then we have the opportuity to transfer onto a once-daily service, the 08:08 South Gloucester Bus & Coach Company 680 service bound for Filton College, where we arrive at 08:40 on Wednesday morning.
Heading towards a more affluent part of Bristol, we then walk around the corner to the bus stop on Cranbrook Road, where we board the 1050 First Bristol service 72 to Clifton (Belgrave Road), arriving there at 1104 on Wednesday morning.
We walk to Clifton Down Station (7 minutes), with plenty of time to catch the 11:29 First Great Western service 2K18 bound for Severn Beach, where we arrive at 11:49 on Wednesday morning.
We walk to the bus stop on Severn Road outside the railway station and board the 1204 Wessex Connect service 625 to Little Stoke (Farley Close) that arrives there at 1238 on Wednesday afternoon.
A quick walk across Little Stoke park brings us to Patchway station, where we board the 1339 First Great Western train to Taunton, arriving at 1457 Wednesday afternoon.
Changing TOC, we decide to see the home station of one of the forum membership and board the 1859 Northern service to Prestbury that arrives at 1925 on Wednesday evening.
Leaving the station, we hop onboard a Stagecoach Manchester service 313 bus at the stop directly outside at 2046, arriving at Stockport Bus Station at 2102 Wednesday evening.
Transferring to the nearby coach station, be board National Express coach service FK240 at 2245 to Heathrow Airport, Terminals 1, 2, 3 arriving at 0355 Thursday morning.
We step off the bus with lots of our fellow passengers making their way to the check-in desks to fly to some exotic destinations. Early morning flights to the US being some of the most popular destinations at this time. Sadly, we're still unable to join them
With the airport being so busy at this time of the morning, we don't have to wait long for more buses to turn up. We're able to board the First Berkshire & Thames Valley number 75 service towards Slough bus station, where we arrive at 04:40 on Thursday morning.
