Clue 3:
It used to have a junction with a short branch line down to the harbour.

Since it's been almost 24 hours, here is clue 4:
It is in a village with two national rail stations.

I wondered about that, along with St. Budeaux Victoria Road, but I suspect that both 153s and 150s get to both.

Clue 5:
Currently the service through this station is curtailed due to major engineering works.

Porthmadoc?

As I can now see my previous clue was ambiguous, what I meant was that there is still a service, it is just not the same service it was previously, due to it not running as far as it should do.

Sorry

Since you have come up with an idea I hadn't considered, I have edited clue 3 to two national rail stations in the village, and no I don't count morfa mawddach as in Fairbourne.

Not sure how that fits with clue five.
Anyway, clue 6, since no one seems able to get it.
The nearby, award winning golf club, offers reduced fees for those arriving at this station.

Once 5 clues have gone and no-one's guessed it on clue 5, you're supposed to give the answer and set a new one.

Ok, well the answer is Aberdyfi (Aberdovey)

So here's a new one.
Clue 1: It is East of Glasgow.

Clue two:
It is partly DC electrified
