(1) This station is not in the NSE area.

Good start. You couldn't be too much further out :D

2) This station has exactly the same number of platforms as TOCs. This number is not prime.

Actually, scrap that - no one else has taken it, so I'm keeping it.

Clue 1: This station is north of Birmingham.

Clue 4: This station handles direct services to 2 international airports - one of which is by rail, the other of which is by another mode of public transport.

Hazel Grove. Bus 199 to Manchester Airport, EMT to Liverpool Airport

EMT is not technically direct though, as it's another bus from Liverpool South Parkway when the train arrives there.

Sorry to be pedantic - but if I'm not, then someone else will be and try to get 6 points off me...

At which point did you say direct to the terminal door though? My interpretation is that Liverpool Parkway is designed to serve Liverpool Airport, and is in walking distance (for me at any rate) therefore, since, for me there is no need to take the bus, I consider the train to be direct.

If that's the interpretation that stands, then I have just lost 6 points. (But Hazel Grove is not the right answer either way.)

I am unsure how I should proceed now...

I think we should proceed on the basis of an invalid answer for the time being. See what someone more official has to say about it.

I would agree that Hazel Grove is a penalty. A train to Liverpool South Parkway is not a direct train to an airport. I'm not yet sure as to a valid answer though.

As no one else has provided an answer; I think it might be time to provide another clue.

Clue 5: This station will also, in the future, provide an interchange with another mode of non-NR rail transport.

Hello everyone :)

Haymarket

And your return brings forth the correct answer.

Now I have to ask - can you tell me whether gnolife's objection is valid? (Post #4222.) If it is, then I can expect to be hit for 6 due to Haymarket having direct trains to Dyce (bus link to Aberdeen Airport).

Cancel that - I've royally messed it up anyway.

I considered Haymarket and forgot about platform 0, seeing as it didn't exist when I was last there.

I would say that precisely one of you is due a penalty (assuming there is nothing direct to Brum Intl - in which case it could be both). I woul consder it to be Gnolfe for a dud response with Hazel Grove.
