Morning

1V91 and 1W96 are units today - did 67020 and HD03 have some kind of problem yesterday evening ?

Thank you

Dave
One of the two, the set or the loco, has had an issue. As for 1W96, HD07's had problems down at Cardiff so it's normal diagram is a unit. Either way, if they can fix HD03 today I feel that 1W96 will be a unit anyway.

Apparently when HD08 is online TFW are thinking of bringing a 6th diagram for the Mk4s.
TfW should try to run their 5 diagrams first.

I see 1W13 was a 3-car 197 this morning and 1W57 is a 2-car 197, so that is 2/5 diagrams today they were unable to resource. Needs HD09 perhaps?

HD09 blimey...
I assume that is why they went with four character identifiers, means they can get to HD99 without messing anything up :)

I note that further to 1W13 and 1W57 being 197s (3-car and 2-car respectively), 1W61 was also a 2-car.

Maybe we do need HD10+

Don't think we need HD09 or HD10

We need something, because 7 sets is clearly not enough to run the advertised service.

Probably needs another siding at Cardiff if it is not possible to keep enough working sets in Cardiff overnight.

1W13 this morning left late and as a 3-car 197.

Yes HD07 after having wheel flats
The day before requiring going on the wheel lathe, then had a coach with power issues this morning !

It really doesn’t matter how many sets there are or how new & what the loco is on them, because at 4am in the morning at
Holyhead or Cardiff, there isn’t going to be a spare loco or set of coaches
Prepped waiting to replace a failed one
Like BR in the 80s & 90s,
Even if it’s 68s Mk5s, 93s 99s etc
If they fail, it will be the same unit
Replacement.

Its amazing how quiet, it is on here
When there’s nothing going wrong !

Any ideas which 67's will be out and around Cardiff tomorrow ?
67013/017/020/025 on Cardiff-Manchesters Tomorrow with 67010 on Holyhead-Crewe crowd busters due to expected 158/197 shortforms .

I don't post every day that the Mk4s fail to provide their diagrams, only days when it affects me.

The 18:30 from Manchester ran very smoothly yesterday, on time at Pontypool for the first time in my many times of using it. Usually you lose a few minutes here and there for dwells and the train ends up 5 or 6 minutes late.

Was one of the ex-LNER sets though and it is getting very scruffy. Certainly feels like an old train now.

All the rest of your post does is emphasise why microfleets are a bad idea.
