Probably one for a different thread (couldn’t see one), but according to Angel Trains a new operator has been found for the 175s - anyone know/heard of who exactly?
I'm led to believe that this could be Chiltern.

On another note, does anyone have a definitive list of the units off-lease or in stored status and where they are at the moment please?

I can confirm 175005 is on Landore, along with another but there were some Mark 4s and DVTs blocking a view of most of what was on there.

002 005 007 definitely all off lease at Landore. 111 is parts donor now being refitted still at Longsight. 008 / 101 are both at Chester with fire damage, but I believe they have been reformed into a good set and bad set now.

Thanks Tech, hope you are well, sir? :)

Cheers Luke, I'm mostly up to date then. Is 111 actually being re-fitted to become operational again?

Other than the off-lease 3 and fire damaged ones already mentioned, other units shown as not being used for a while are:

175004 at Holyhead since 06/05
175010 at Holyhead since 08/03
175108 at Chester since 06/05
175110 at Holyhead since 06/05
175115 at Chester since 16/05

I don't know whether it's to become operational again for TfW, but it may be made operational to go off lease for a new operator.

Good point about the ROSCO requiring it to be in working order. Makes it even more interesting that TfW decided to head down the route of turning it into a parts donor as I presume they knew they'd need to do this work to make it operational again at some point

175102 was still parked up in Hereford as of last night, saw it as I was storming past on a post-work ride. Hopefully soon it can be back in action!

Good photo. I rode 116 this afternoon 1549 Cardiff Central to Port Talbot Parkway (Milford Haven service). My first time on a 3 car 175 since early March!

175102 has left Hereford and gone to Chester towed by (ironically) 175107.

I noticed that not long after you posted it, well an hour and a bit afterwards. That was a surprise! Good news that it's gone up north for repairs though, here's hoping it will be back out soon :)

175011 is doing a Swanline run today. Looks like its doing a Carmarthen to Cardiff this morning before going to Canton then onto a Swanline run including 1105 from Swansea. Yet the Manchester service which runs just before it is a pair of 153s!

I'm going to hazard a guess that the 175 didn't have enough fuel to go to Manchester.

Carmarthen also has quite a few trains which stay there overnight and only 2 platforms and a sidings to put them in. It can make the next days workings harder to get in the right order.

Yes i wondered how Carmarthen had the space to stable so many sets overnight. I think before Covid there was something like 5 x 175s, 3 x 150s, a 158 and a 153. I guess now there are a lot more Sprinters with only a few 175s overnight.

The two platforms are quite long and I think there's now a second set of sidings too.

There are quite a few 175s out today. The Manchester services only running as far as Crewe due to the industrial action has helped as less overall diagrams required.

A quick look at RTT shows 9 out today

102, 105, 106, 107, 109, 112, 116 all on Milford Haven/Carmarthen/Cardiff/Crewe

Plus 003 and 011 on the North Wales coast to Warrington.

No services going to Manchester from either the North or South due to the industrial action.

I shall be catching the 3:05pm Cardiff Central to Llanelli but sadly only 2 cars. Running basically to time so may not be standing room only!!
At least its a 158! Better than a pair of 153s or a 150!

Indeed but I did not look properly and thought it was a 175! Still as you say 158s are fine!!

Around the same number of 175s out as usual these days, but it looks more because they are all on the West Wales-Crewe route (apart from 2 x 2 car 175s in the North) so it just feels like more than usual.

Seems like they have concentrated the 3 car 175s on Crewe/Cardiff/West Wales route which is very sensible considering only these and Swanline are running between Swansea-Cardiff today. Cardiff-Holyhead looks to be 2 car Sprinters for the most part today.

I just saw the 2:53pm service from Cardiff to Crewe and a 2 car 150! So pot luck it seems. Also the USB ports do not work on this 158 which is annoying as reported it before nothing was done! Good job I have powerbanks but not the point it is the principle!!

That one is meant to be a MK4 (unsure whether its actually meant to be a MK4 at the moment or one that's meant to be regularly substituted for a Sprinter/175 until more MK4 come into service, there is a list i believe on the MK4 thread).

Yes pot luck but it seems they have tried to keep the Swansea-Cardiff 3 car whenever possible today which is very sensible given the lack of GWR services. There was even a 4 car (2x 150s) this morning on one of the Swansea-Cardiff services.

Edit just checked and 1453 is meant to be a MK4 but being subbed today for a 150 it seems.

Apologies for being a bit off topic, but does anyone know what's happening with the Manchester to South Wales trains tomorrow?
A relative is supposed to be on the 17:30 Manchester Picc to Swansea but Real Time Trains shows it as terminating at Shrewsbury. Yet online train ticket websites still show it as running as normal.
